James Black's arm holding the bowl stiffened slightly, feeling a bit helpless, but mostly heartache.
"First, take care of your stomach." He had the mute aunt buy some snacks Jane Sampson loved, only to realize that Jane Sampson couldn't eat them now.
Jane Sampson's health wasn't great to begin with, and after this disaster, she lost a significant amount of weight. It was uncertain just how long it would take to gain back those lost pounds.
"Once you go back, have grandfather record your weight. When I return, for every pound gained, I'll give you a reward." James Black brought the soup scoop to Jane Sampson's lips and thought for a moment before adding, "Clothes count too."
Jane Sampson's eyelashes fluttered several times, as if pondering whether she had heard correctly.
"Clothes... count too?" Jane Sampson found it hard to believe, but after asking, she couldn't help but reveal a very mischievous expression, "No matter what, I heard you. You said clothes count too!"
