A person who can say such last words indicates that from the beginning, he genuinely embraced the certainty of his demise. Later, during the waiting process for death, he calmly accepted the worst outcome about himself and peacefully arranged his final resting place.
Even in death, he wanted to be closer to Jane Sampson.
