Eve suddenly saw the light.
Upon further reflection, it was terrifying to realize that Elder Tonkin's seemingly kind act was laden with so much deeper meaning.
Irvin Sharman stroked Eve's head, "In short, no matter what Elder Tonkin says, don't agree to it. We'll be staying in the country from now on, and won't have much to do with him. His stay here isn't long; he'll leave sooner or later."
