Purple Summers was stunned, "…a fire alarm?"
"Yes, didn't you hear it? It was ringing for quite a while." The nurse smiled, "You were sleeping so deeply."
Purple Summers asked, "There wasn't an incident, was there?"
"Well, it was alright. At first, we thought there was a fire, and the whole building organized an emergency evacuation, but then it turned out to be a false alarm…"
The nurse hadn't finished speaking when sudden hurried footsteps erupted in the corridor outside!
Mixed with shouting and questioning, they came one after another in utter chaos.
"There's trouble in the newborn ward! Is your child in there?"
"All the police have come! They say someone's kidnapping children, and a nurse inside is being held hostage; the security door is also locked!"
"What are we going to do?! My child is still inside!"
Purple Summers listened, her heart pounding with terror, her face turning ashen in an instant.
