The night was silent and still.

The fluorescent lights emitted a ghastly white glow. In the hospital room, the two people wore grave expressions, their faces tense...

"Are you afraid?" Aria Jackson softly asked the man beside her.

Hudson Chester sat by the bedside, his back straight, his voice deep: "Not really..."

Though the lights were on in the room, it inexplicably felt gloomy, especially in the corner by the window, which seemed particularly oppressive.

There stood a figure, barely perceptible, wearing a striped hospital gown, hair disheveled, eyes blankly staring at them, lips moving open and shut, open and shut...

It kept looking, instilling a sense of horror.

But to look away felt a bit cowardly.

Aria Jackson glanced at Lauren Jones, then at Hudson Chester, and somewhat awkwardly... reached out her hand to hold Hudson Chester's hand.

"If you're scared, hold my hand... Wouldn't that make you feel a bit better?" Aria Jackson said in a low voice.
