Chapter 5 - Suprise

As I ran towards the figure, it got smaller in the distance. Her long, black dress flowed behind her like a dark cloud, contrasting with her silver hair that fell down her back like a river. My feet felt heavy, as if stuck to the ground, making every step a struggle. "Mother..." I called out, my voice barely above a whisper.

The figure stopped and turned around, revealing a face with two dark holes where her eyes should be. She gave a strange smile and started walking towards me. A bright light enveloped me, and I felt a sharp pain in my right arm. I screamed, my voice echoing through the room, and slowly sat up, disoriented.

As I looked around, I realized I wasn't in my room at home. The room was luxurious, with fancy furniture and rich tapestries. A big bed sat at the center of the room. Velvet curtains covered the windows.

I was lying on a soft, red rug, surrounded by intricately carved wooden furniture. Panic set in as I saw a large bandage wrapped around my arm. What had happened?

The bathroom door creaked open, and I heard the sound of running water. Someone was in there. Fear gripped my heart as I wondered if I had been abducted.

With determination, I struggled to my feet, but my legs buckled, and I nearly fell over a delicate pitcher on the table. Gritting my teeth, I tried again, my legs trembling. I stumbled towards the main door, a wooden door with carvings, and jerked the knob. It was locked. My fear escalated, and I knew I had to escape.

The bathroom door creaked open, and I readied myself, gripping the pitcher tightly. If I have to go down, it wouldn't be without a fight... no matter how painful.

A figure emerged, and with a fierce cry, I threw the pitcher at him.

"What!" a masculine voice thundered.

As I fell to the floor, weak and exhausted, I saw him – a man with piercing green eyes, strong features, and a chiseled jawline. His bare chest was muscular, and his dark hair was messy, as if he had just woken up. He rolled me over, his eyes locking onto mine, and I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body. "What are you doing? Why did you do that?" he demanded, his deep voice filled with concern.

The room began to spin, and I blacked out, the last thing I saw being his piercing green eyes, filled with surprise and compassion.
