Chapter 428 - Chapter 379.2 : To Zoldyck State!!

From a rational perspective, creatures generally seek to benefit and avoid harm. They rarely engage in self-destructive behavior.

The people Killua loves the most right now are probably Alluka, Nanika, and Gon.

If he were to start accepting "acting spoiled" and fail to meet its demands three times or more, a terrible disaster would befall him and those he loves.

At that point, the lightest outcome would be that Killua, Alluka, Nanika, and Gon would all meet a tragic end, twisted into a rope-like state.

If Nanika didn't want to endanger herself, it would be best not to "act spoiled" toward Killua.

Alternatively, it would be better to spread the "acting spoiled" that should have fallen on Killua to the other "victims" of it.

These two approaches aren't mutually exclusive. In fact, combining them may just be the solution.

On August 3rd, Germain visited the Zoldyck family estate in Kukuroo Mountain for the third time. Once again, he witnessed how the butler, servants, and guards all adored Killua.

This wasn't the first time Killua had traveled far from home, nor was it the first time he stayed away for a long time without returning.

Coincidentally, the longest time he had ever stayed away was when he went to the Heavens Arena.

Back then, Killua followed his father Silva's instructions and stayed at the Heavens Arena for two years, reaching the 200th floor. He didn't continue going higher and eventually returned home.

Thinking back now, that was about four or five years ago.

However, the Zoldyck family's butlers and servants still couldn't hide their concern and longing for Killua. They often watched the online broadcasts of the duels he participated in at the Heavens Arena.

Especially after such a big event occurred before Young Master Killua left.

The usually strict Silva had actually allowed Mr. Germain, an outsider, to take over Killua's guardianship. This was truly unbelievable.

It made everyone rethink their opinion of Germain and reassess his standing in Silva and Zeno's eyes.

When Killua returned, he first asked Gotoh if Illumi was home. The answer he got was that Illumi had left last month on a mission and hadn't returned yet.

He mumbled, "Lucky him," and decided to put aside his plans to settle scores with Illumi for now.

Gon was visiting the Zoldyck family for the second time. He was already quite familiar with the place and cheerfully greeted the people he knew.

Gotoh, Canary, Zebro, and Seaquant were all included in his greeting.

Zebro smiled warmly in return, while Canary and Seaquant were much more indifferent, just nodding in acknowledgment.

But Gotoh, who initially looked serious, had no choice but to give Gon a professional smile in front of Young Master Killua. Not only did he respond, but he also greeted Gon as well.

Germain was of course given a high level of hospitality. Once again, he was greeted at the entrance of the Zoldyck family estate by Zeno, Silva, and others.

Aside from Kikyo and Milluki, who seemed a little awkward, everyone else was genuinely happy to see Germain, Killua, and Gon.

Germain didn't get straight to the point but instead left time for Killua to catch up with his family.

Even in abnormal families, it's normal for family members to care for each other.

As soon as Silva met Gon and Killua, he immediately sensed that Killua's anger hadn't subsided. He quickly realized that Killua's "Nen needle" had been removed.

It was clear who had removed the "Nen needle" from Killua's head. Silva had already anticipated this moment when he handed over temporary guardianship to Germain.

He cleverly avoided giving Killua the chance to lash out, using Gon's presence to subtly steer the conversation toward their training experiences over the past few months.

Since it was Killua's father asking, Gon naturally spoke openly, sharing everything except for a few topics concerning Ging.

Watching Gon talk non-stop, Killua couldn't find the right moment to bring up the subject. He also didn't want to make a fool of himself in front of Gon or Germain.

So, the topics of Alluka and the "Nen needle" were put on hold for the time being.

Silva listened as Gon talked about how they won three battles on the 200th floor of the Heavens Arena, and how they completed various main and side missions on Greed Island.

When Silva heard that both Killua and Gon had made progress in their "Nen abilities," he feigned surprise and shifted from propping his chin with his fist to sitting up straight.

"Killua, is what Gon said true? Can you show me the results of your training?"

Killua sulked and ignored his father.

Gon, however, confidently demonstrated his "Rock-Paper-Scissors" move with his Nen.

He gathered his Nen for a long time before releasing a weak Nen wave.

Kikyo couldn't help but fan herself, covering her mouth and laughing disdainfully.

Milluki, on the other hand, laughed loudly, truly embodying the meaning of "belly laughs."

Silva and Zeno both smiled politely.

Their younger son, Kalluto, still stood quietly in the distance, dressed like a large doll in his kimono.

Germain glanced at Gon, who was grinning stupidly and rubbing the back of his head, and some strange thoughts crossed his mind.

If you say Gon is cautious, when Silva asked him to show his "Nen ability," he did.

But if you say he isn't cautious, he chose to demonstrate the weakest "rock" in Rock-Paper-Scissors.

This would give the people around them, who didn't know the whole story, a wrong impression right from the start.

You see, in "Nen battles," knowing just a little is more dangerous than knowing nothing at all. Enemies can use incomplete or incorrect knowledge to set traps.

Of course, this little trick wouldn't work on experienced people like Zeno and Silva.

However, the same event can be seen from different perspectives—some see the front, some see the side, and some see the back.

From Killua's perspective, it was his best friend who got laughed at by his mother and that guy, Milluki.

Killua was already furious because of Alluka and the "Nen needle" incident. In a flash, electricity sparked from his body as he called Milluki out for a one-on-one fight.

Milluki wasn't scared of Killua, the newbie, but the fight was quickly stopped by Silva.

How could he let these two brothers fight right in front of him?

With Gon's persuasion, Killua finally calmed down.

But, thanks to that brief outburst, the Zoldyck family members were able to see Killua's "Nen ability"—turning his Nen into electric power.

It hadn't even been six months since Killua left the Zoldyck family, and he had already gone from knowing almost nothing about Nen to being capable of Nen combat.

Such rapid progress amazed even the Zoldyck family members, who always had faith in Killua's talent.

It was clear that in the months he had been away, Killua had not wasted any time and had probably received guidance from a master.

Kikyo, on the other hand, kept glancing at Germain and Gon, and couldn't help but mutter to herself.

Why does Killua prefer to be close to these outsiders?

Why doesn't Killua listen to my advice and take advantage of this critical period of growth under my care?

Where did things go wrong?
