Chapter 603 - Chapter 524 : Suppressing Whim and Wish!!

Zeno hunched forward, stroking his long beard as he spoke.

"Killua, you must understand—no matter how you look at it, Nanika is dangerous."

"That's not her fault!" Killua's voice rose with emotion. "It's the fault of those greedy people, the ones who only take and never give anything back!"

His agitation stirred the quiet room.

In his arms, Alluka shifted slightly, as if his voice had disturbed her sleep. Thankfully, she did not open her eyes.

Killua gently stroked her head again, his expression filled with aching tenderness.

"Perhaps you're right," Zeno admitted softly. "But the world is never short of malicious, greedy people. That kind of danger is impossible to avoid."

"If that's the case, then I'll protect them," Killua whispered, his tone firm and unwavering.

Zeno pressed his lips together, his hands clasped behind his back, unsure of what else to say.

It was then that Illumi finally spoke, his voice as cold and emotionless as ever.

"You'll protect them? And how, exactly, do you plan to do that?"

Killua's eyes narrowed, his gaze sharp as he glared at his elder brother.

"Do you want to find out?"

"Of course." Illumi's hands flicked ever so slightly, and several golden needles appeared between his fingers.

He didn't mind giving his younger brother a lesson. In fact, he believed Killua would eventually understand the intentions behind his actions.

Killua's entire body tensed. His hand slid down to his waist, fingers brushing against the yo-yo crafted for him by his second brother, Milluki.

"That's enough!" Silva's voice cut sharply through the tension, halting the looming clash between the brothers.

His stern gaze shifted toward Germain.

"I want to hear your opinion on this matter."

Silva's tone was firm but measured.

"Killua's wish to protect Alluka and Nanika—that feeling is something we can all understand. But Illumi's concerns are also valid."

He paused before continuing.

"Even Grandpa Zigg's Nen abilities can't resolve the problem that Alluka and Nanika present. If there's anyone in this world who might be able to, it would be you."

"Germain?"

All eyes turned to Germain, especially Killua, whose eyes held a flicker of anticipation.

Germain indeed had a plan forming in his mind.

"I do have a method now," he said, "though it won't completely cure them, it's enough to let them live like normal girls."

"I believe that even in the 'Gaseous Lifeform Ai,' Nanika is an extraordinarily unique existence. It was only recently that I fully understood her."

"Her origin lies in the 'Darkness.' The issues with Zigg also stem from the same 'Darkness.' Solve the 'Darkness,' and their problems will be resolved."

Killua frowned, confused. "What do you mean by 'Darkness'?"

Germain did not answer the question.

He trusted that if necessary, the elders of the Zoldyck family—who already knew the details from him—would explain everything carefully to Killua.

"I will seal their 'Whim and Wish,'" Germain said.

"As long as I am alive, they will never be able to use their abilities."

"You…" Illumi started, his voice catching as he tried to voice his doubts, but he froze when Germain turned his gaze toward him.

Then, his hands no longer obeyed him.

Clink, clink, clink—

The golden needles Illumi had intended to use while eating slipped completely from his fingers and clattered to the floor.

Even as a Manipulation-type Nen user, he had been turned against himself. A shiver ran down his spine, and he quickly pressed his lips shut.

Germain then looked at Zeno, Silva, and Killua, especially Killua.

He locked eyes with Killua. "This is the best solution I can offer."

Silence filled the room.

Zeno let out a sigh and glanced at Silva. "As always, you're the head of the family. You make the decision."

Killua, holding Alluka in his arms, eagerly looked toward his father.

Silva furrowed his brow, thinking for a moment before speaking.

"Assuming…" he began slowly, "assuming you really can accomplish such a thing… then fine. We'll proceed with this method."

He lowered his gaze to his third son. "Killua, you can accept this, right?"

"Mm." Killua nodded. "Once Alluka and Nanika wake up, I'll tell them the good news."

Actually, Killua had another key point about Alluka and Nanika that he hadn't shared with anyone yet.

That was the fact that his "commands" to Alluka and Nanika carried almost no risk.

This was because he was constantly on the receiving end of their playful affection, and he had always treated them with kindness—essentially a form of "prepaid credit."

Unless that "prepaid credit" ran out, Killua's commands were completely safe.

Alluka—and especially Nanika—were very perceptive. They could easily tell whether the person in front of them was motivated by greed or kindness.

As for how Germain set up the powerful "Vows and Limitations" for Alluka and Nanika, there was no need to worry about how their personalities would switch.

Looking at the original timeline, after Nanika saved Gon, Killua had told her to never appear again.

Killua believed this was the best way to protect them.

Later, after Alluka angrily reminded him, Killua realized just how cruel his words had been. He immediately let Nanika come out and apologize to her.

From this, it was clear that Alluka and Nanika's personalities could switch freely, and it had nothing to do with "Whim and Wish."

On the contrary, the seemingly convenient and all-powerful ability of "Whim and Wish" had been an obstacle to their living normal lives.

Now, finally, someone could temporarily remove that obstacle and let them live ordinary lives.

So, after Alluka and Nanika had rested and woken up, Killua immediately shared the good news with them.

Both sisters were overjoyed. This meant they could truly be by Killua's side—the one they loved the most—without anything standing in their way.

Alluka and Nanika quickly agreed to it.

That same day, Germain set up his own "Vows and Limitations" on Alluka and Nanika, leaving the imprint of the "Halo and Crown" on them.

After everything was done, Alluka and Nanika's "Whim and Wish" were indeed suppressed by Germain.

They could still act affectionate, but no matter what they wished for, or whom it was directed at, the other party wasn't forced to fulfill it, and failure carried no consequences.

They could still grant wishes, but only for things that two young girls could actually accomplish—like peeling an apple for you.

Killua, Alluka, and Nanika sincerely thanked Germain.

From this moment on, their long-awaited life was finally beginning.

At the end, Zeno and Silva asked Germain when he would set off for the Dark Continent, to the place of the "Gaseous Lifeforms Ai."

They wanted to know if their promise would still hold.

"Very soon," Germain replied.

"However, I'm afraid you won't be able to accompany me. I already have a premonition of the dangers in the final part of this journey. It's not something you can take part in."

Zeno and Silva understood and didn't bring it up again afterward.

Then, the group stayed on the New Continent for nearly two months, mainly to observe Alluka and Nanika.

In the end, they concluded that Alluka and Nanika no longer displayed any monstrous abilities.

Germain's suppression had been remarkably effective.

Only then did Zeno, Silva, Illumi, Tsubone, and Amane finally feel at ease and leave.

Killua, Alluka, and Nanika began their new life on the New Continent, together with Gon and the others.
