Crack—
The massive wall between the World Trees shattered, and a gaping breach released countless waves of dark mist, slowly rolling outward like a sluggish tide.
A figure, entirely black and known as the "Wall-Facer," stumbled out from the gap and collapsed weakly onto the ground, his violin tumbling to the side.
Then, the violin, seemingly under some invisible control, floated into the air. It paused mid-flight for a moment before suddenly shooting straight toward the "Wall-Facer."
A hole of blood had appeared in his chest without him noticing, and crimson streams poured out.
The violin struck with a soft pffft, just like a cork being forced into a bottle, sealing the wound.
But the "Wall-Facer" did not appreciate it. He let out a mournful howl and fell backward onto the ground, face up.
A silver light shot out like an arrow from the remaining wall, landing beside the "Wall-Facer," and the figure of Germain appeared.
The third movement had ended, marking the death of the third "Wall-Facer."
Although Germain had dealt with the third "Wall-Facer," the darkness simultaneously took care of the two "Wall-Facers" under the control of the Flesh Badge.
This left only one "Wall-Facer" near the darkness, breaking the stalemate that had been forming.
Moments later, the fourth movement of the Dark Sonata—the final movement—began, accompanied by a solo piano.
However, by now, the influence of the Dark Sonata on Germain had diminished greatly.
Thump… thump… thump—
Heavy footsteps echoed from the dark world beyond the wall. The figure of Darkness, wielding the Demon King's Scepter, finally revealed itself beneath the blood-red night sky.
He wore a terrifying crown, and his robes, black as ink, trailed long across the ground.
The Demon King's Scepter was crafted from the World Tree itself, undoubtedly from the tallest and most majestic one.
He lifted his gaze to the still-fractured blood moon before turning his eyes to Germain.
"I did not expect you and the 'Deep Sea' to achieve such results… Very well, I cannot fail the mission God has entrusted to me."
Darkness slammed the Demon King's Scepter into the ground. Waves of pure black Nen rippled outward, shattering the surrounding walls, the World Trees, and even the base of the volcano!
Everything around was thrown into chaotic disarray.
A black projectile shot out from somewhere unknown, merging seamlessly into Darkness's robes.
Then came a second black projectile, which also fused into his body.
Germain understood almost instantly what it was—those were the deceased "Wall-Facers," their lingering powers flowing directly into the body of "Darkness."
Sure enough, the third black orb emerged from the fallen "Wall-Facer" and shot straight into "Darkness," all at once.
Finally, the piano stopped abruptly. The fourth movement of the Dark Sonata had barely begun before coming to a halt, as a single black orb darted into the heart of "Darkness."
The powers of all four "Wall-Facers" had been fully absorbed.
Yet, instead of growing larger, "Darkness" began shrinking, as if compressing all its energy inward.
When it had reduced to just two meters in height, it paused and slowly approached Germain.
The "Demon King's Staff" in its hands split into two. In its left hand swung a pocket watch with a long chain, while its right hand merged seamlessly with a massive sword.
Germain, holding the Burial Blade, stepped forward with the same deliberate pace.
When the two demigods were only a few steps apart, they moved simultaneously, and the sound of metal clashing rang out—Demon King's Sword and Burial Blade collided repeatedly in midair!
Sparks flew, silver and black light exploding with each strike.
Suddenly, "Darkness" dropped the chain from its left hand, letting the pocket watch sway violently. A massive wave of blackness erupted, swallowing them whole.
In the next instant, the darkness vanished, and the scene shifted dramatically.
Germain bounced the Demon King's Sword away with his Burial Blade, stepping back while surveying the surroundings with lightning speed. He was slightly surprised to realize something.
He and "Darkness" had been instantaneously transported to Fang Bay—the territory of the Gaseous Lifeforms Ai!
It was unexpected, yet entirely logical; after all, "Darkness" had powers inherently tied to space.
Germain could still sense the Giant of Greed and Madness and countless Gaseous Lifeforms Ai, hiding in fear of the two demigods' power.
"Darkness" raised the Demon King's Sword, fused with its right arm, and swung it down in a single, devastating strike!
Boom!
A deep chasm was carved diagonally across Fang Bay. Thick, ink-black water surged instantly from the fissure.
Countless Gaseous Lifeforms E, along with the Giant of Greed and Madness, were forced to appear on the black waters, struggling as if they were drowning.
Germain glanced at it and raised the Burial Blade, slashing toward Darkness, only to have Darkness block it with the Demon King Greatsword.
At the same time, Gaseous Lifeform Ai and the Giant of Greed and Madness were inevitably drawn into the black waters, dissolving into scattered droplets.
Germain couldn't save them.
They shimmered like black starlight, converging onto the Demon King Greatsword, giving the blade more intricate patterns and accumulating vast amounts of energy.
The Trinity Elixir guarded by Gaseous Lifeform Ai were clearly named by the explorers based on the "three primary colors," representing its ability to form all kinds of liquids.
The creatures that paid the price fulfilled three "acts of whim" demanded by Gaseous Lifeform Ai, and the substances contained within these acts would transform into liquid within the dark space.
If fewer than three acts were completed, the liquid from the creature paying the price would be forcibly extracted.
Many victims appeared flattened or twisted like ropes for this very reason.
All of this liquid would, step by step, convert into the primordial essence of all liquids in the dark space—the Trinity Elixir.
With proper mixing, the Trinity Elixir could be transformed back into any liquid.
Now, all of the Trinity Elixir stored here had converged on the Demon King Greatsword, as if enchanted, imbuing it with terrifying power.
Once fully charged, Darkness swung the Demon King Greatsword at Germain.
Boom—
Germain sensed something was wrong the moment Darkness raised the blade. A flash of silver light, and he leapt away from his position.
The vast area where he had been standing—trees, stones, and every protrusion from the ground—was crushed into flattened disks and fragments with a thunderous roar.
"Heh heh." Darkness chuckled, sprouting black wings from its back as it flew toward Germain.
It swung the Demon King Greatsword again, and Germain lifted the Burial Blade to block.
Shhh—
The next moment, Germain's arm twisted uncontrollably into a rope-like shape, blood spraying everywhere!
