One hundred fifty years before the opening of the Chaos Secret Realm, the Myriad Sword Immortal Sect was a very large and powerful force on the Immortal Continent. Even though it had been in decline for millions of years, it was still powerful enough that most cultivators still saw it as a behemoth whose power could not be curbed and whose existence was eternal. The sect kept up appearances to the world by carrying on with its many competitions and activities.
One of these competitions was an alchemy competition that attracted cultivators from all over the world. The prizes were very attractive, and even those in the Nascent Immortal realm participated. This was only the first segment of the competition; the other two segments involved Earth Immortals and even Golden Immortals. This competition, held once every one thousand years since the beginning of the Immortal Dao Epoch, was so famous and popular that it was called the Immortal Alchemy Duel.
