The status window floated before Jon's eyes, casting bluish reflections across his face. He stared at it with a wide smile, unable to hide his satisfaction. The intense pain he had felt upon acquiring the Mystic Eyes had vanished as quickly as it appeared, leaving only a sense of victory.

After awakening that ability, he had finished reading the other two books in silence. The excitement burned inside him, but he couldn't ignore the insistent stares of the young woman who until then had seemed indifferent. Her sudden interest made him uneasy. Jon didn't want to become a target of unwanted attention, especially in a place full of arrogant nobles. So he left the library.

Lying exhausted in his room, he mentally reviewed his gains. 'The passive of Magic and Elemental Magic merged with Swordsman... just with that my strength, agility, and intelligence skyrocketed.'

It was like receiving an unexpected gift. Another present revealed by the Codex of the Abyss was the location of the entire RANK SS artifact set, the Lumiar Set. A detail Jon would never have found without the mod's guide.

The five parts of the set were scattered in goblin dungeons, each located in one of the main kingdoms: Valdoria, Frostpeak, Sundar, Thornwood, and Dunewatch. According to the guide, this set had been created to accompany a player from the start of a new game.

Even knowing of additional weapons tied to the set, Jon decided not to risk searching for them now. He had already begun investing experience in his Luminar, and abandoning its growth halfway would be a mistake.

'For the next weekends, I'm going to be very busy.'

A tired smile drew across his lips. But before he could plan his next steps, a wave of exhaustion hit him. His body, unable to handle the abrupt increase in stats, gave in immediately.

Jon collapsed onto the bed, falling asleep without resistance. His breathing slowly steadied as the silence of the night wrapped around him.

The morning sun streamed through the Academy's stained-glass windows, painting the corridors with golden hues. The sound of lively voices filled the air, students moving in groups while discussing the day's classes. Jon walked beside Elara, Elija, and Nortis, traces of fatigue still etched on his face.

"You look exhausted, Jon." Nortis nudged his shoulder lightly, laughing afterward. "Trained until you passed out last night?"

Jon sighed, trying to hide a yawn. "Something like that."

Elija raised an eyebrow, curious. "Or maybe you spent too much time in the library? I heard you almost got thrown out for making noise there."

Elara, walking suspiciously close, covered her mouth and giggled softly. "Making noise in the library? That doesn't sound like you, Jon. I expected to hear you'd fallen asleep on some book, not that you disturbed others."

He averted his gaze, feeling heat rise to his face. "It was just dizziness, nothing big."

"Sure..." Elara drew out the word, narrowing her eyes with a playful smile. "I still want to know exactly what you were reading. I bet it was something much more interesting than you're letting on."

Jon forced a neutral expression, ignoring the teasing. 'If I tell her, she won't believe me anyway.'

Arriving at the inner courtyard, they sat on a stone bench shaded by a large tree. The spot was a common meeting point among students during breaks, and there the life of the Academy flowed more freely.

"I heard we'll have a practical evaluation next month." Elija broke the silence. "It's going to be our first real chance to show the instructors our progress."

Nortis crossed his arms, brimming with confidence. "Perfect. I want to see if all this training finally pays off." He threw a provoking look at Jon. "And you, our class leader, are you going to put on another show like in fencing class?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." Jon replied evasively but couldn't stop a small smile from appearing.

"You're terrible at hiding things." Elara commented, resting her chin on her hand as she watched him. "But don't worry, I'm rooting for you to shine again."

Jon turned his face, avoiding her gaze. 'She's doing this on purpose, she has to be.'

The conversation stayed light, mixing speculation about the upcoming tests with jokes about some of the more eccentric teachers. Elara seemed to enjoy teasing Jon whenever she could, and with each new hint, he grew more flustered—something Elija and Nortis didn't fail to notice.

"Elara, if you keep this up, he'll end up running away from you." Nortis remarked, laughing.

She smiled, her eyes glinting with mischief. "And who said I want him to run?"

Jon coughed, trying to hide the obvious blush on his cheeks.

When the bell for the next class rang, the four stood and walked together. The Academy's atmosphere was vibrant, each classroom filled with motivated students, each corridor charged with anticipation. For Jon, however, that moment of normality—laughter, teasing, and plans for the evaluations—was new and comforting.

'After everything that's happened in the past few days, it's strange how these simple moments can calm me.'

As they walked, Elara moved closer again, so near their shoulders almost touched. "You know, Jon, you should relax more. You're always with that serious face, like you're planning something."

He took a deep breath, looking ahead. "Maybe I am."

Elara laughed, leaning in to look at his face from the side. "In that case, I hope you leave at least a space for me in those plans."

Jon looked at her for a moment, surprised by the seriousness hidden in the joke. Before he could reply, they arrived at the classroom, and the teacher was already ready to begin the lesson.

As he sat down, Jon realized something he couldn't ignore: no matter how much he tried to keep his distance, Elara always found a way to get closer. And part of him was starting to get used to it.

'Am I in love!?'
