Nowhere to hide.
Sophie Sullivan's heart sank abruptly. She steeled herself to continue, "I like you. I don't want to leave you."
Like?
How many times have I heard those words from her little mouth?
Thomas Shannon scoffed, his sleepiness slowly dissipating. "Maniac, do you know what your expression, your eyes are telling me?"
"What?"
His voice was low and hoarse, laced with an irresistible, seductive allure. "You wish you could kill me."
Sophie Sullivan gasped. She instinctively pressed closer into his embrace. "How do you know? What if your feeling is wrong?"
Still so stubborn.
Thomas Shannon snorted coldly, pushing away the body that was clinging to him. "Behave."
"No, I want you to hold me while we sleep." Sophie Sullivan acted like a little rascal, insisting on snuggling into his arms.
Her soft body rubbing against his chest stirred a fire in Thomas Shannon.
Unable to bear it any longer, he slapped her pert bottom. "I'm not holding you. Get off."
