A low chuckle spilled out from her throat.
It seemed like a smooth breakup might be impossible now...
Sophie Sullivan lay in bed all day and took some medicine, which helped her body recover a bit. The pain in her lower abdomen had eased considerably. The servants brought her three meals a day by her bedside, and she forced herself to eat a little.
She didn't see Thomas Shannon all day, and she was somewhat curious. Sipping her fish soup, she glanced at the sky. "It's so late, hasn't Thomas come back yet?"
"Young Master hasn't returned yet," said the servant.
Sophie lowered her eyelids thoughtfully. Never mind, I won't bother about him. After all, they had made peace, and I have nothing to worry about. Wherever he goes, whether he comes back or not, it has little to do with me. Of course, it would be best if he didn't come back; I could have some peace and quiet.
