Sophie dodged uneasily.
"What are you thinking? Focus."
"Can you stay a bit further away from me?"
His breath made her skin prickle uncomfortably.
Thomas Shannon looked up and chuckled softly. "What kind of nonsense are you thinking about?"
"Who's thinking about nonsense?" Sophie clenched the pistol as Thomas's head leaned on her shoulder again.
She held her breath, trying her best to ignore his overwhelming presence, and aimed at the bullet shell not far away.
With a clear mind, Sophie quickly pulled the trigger.
BANG—
The powerful recoil made her entire arm numb. If Thomas's hand hadn't been holding hers, the pistol would have slipped from her grasp long ago.
The bullet shell was hit perfectly.
Sophie felt a little smug, turned her head, and shot Thomas a sidelong glance. "Am I amazing?"
Her expression was the epitome of someone fishing for praise.
Thomas Shannon chuckled lightly, raised his hand, and caressed her smooth, flawless cheek. "Amazing."
