-' Have you heard?'
-' Yeah I heard just this morning and hurried here. I really wanted to see them.'
-'Heeeeeh you're way too late'
-' And seeing as it's the hero's party they're probably down to floor 20 by now.'
I looked over Rochelle's shoulder at the mob by the door. They're conversation intrigued me as did all the bystanders in the hall who overheard them.
"The hero's party... ah the memo-uh mm nvm."
Rochelle froze after Ellen looked at her. I was still distracted so I didn't quite pay any notice to their small exchange.
Rochelle noticed my distracted gaze and tilted her head in my line of sight, her tall purple hair, its length was almost half her height and she stood at about 5ft 4inches. She glared at me with her dark purple eyes that made me step back realizing that I was staring a bit too much.
I couldn't help it my curiosity got the better of me when I heard the word hero, I knew them on a personal level after all.
I felt my left sleeve tug and turned my gaze to see a cloaked Sheena holding onto my sleeve nervously. This had been her first time in human territory and she was surrounded by her previous enemies.
I smiled sheepishly and pulled the front of her cloak over her forehead a bit more, even wearing such a long gowned cloak her physique was still evident. Her thick thighs and plump rump stood out even among all the other women in the room and the gazes she was receiving from hungry men were overwhelming even to me and I wasn't their target.
Obviously, she would be this timid. Rochelle smiled after I pulled Sheena closer it was obvious that she broke my daze earlier to tell me Sheena was nervous and she did so without using her words.
"Two double rooms please," Ellen spoke to the innkeeper while removing her pouch of gold from her pocket.
"I'm sorry miss but all our double rooms are booked we have three single rooms and one five-person bedroom currently unoccupied, ever since this town's adventurers heard the hero's party had been staying here the bo-"
"It's okay we'll take a five-person room!" Rochelle stepped in and raised her voice while slamming the counter, there was evident annoyance in her voice.
I completely understand her annoyance we have been standing in this line for almost two hours and the innkeepers seem to want to keep us standing around longer.
"T-that will be 120 Tils"
|- One Tils is the equivalent of two (USD$)
"Thank you for your patronage. You'll be in room 13 top floor."
Ellen took the key with the number 13 written on it. See the proceeding to mount the cobblestone stairwell to the right of the innkeeper's desk.
After about four floors worth of climbing stairs we finally landed on the fifth floor, the first door we came to was made from cedar with a small metal plate marked [5-1]
Rochelle grabbed the key and dashed off down the passageway was visually scanning each door plate along her run.
Rochelle then came to a stop before shoving the key into a doorknob and dashing into the room.
"Dibs on the window bed." We followed suit shortly after with Ellen complaining about Rochelle's bed choices and Sheena clinging to by arm even more.
I took the bed to the opposite side of the room and was faced with the cold wooden walls instead of a window, Sheena took the bed directly beside mine and Ellen and Rochelle continued to argue over who would get the bed by the window.
I placed my travel sack on the shelf over the head of my bed and took a moment to inhale the fresh scent of Cedar. I removed my sword from my waist leaving it against the wall beside my bed and Sheena followed through doing the same with her staff and I removed the hood of her cloak revealing her semi-human face with her small goblin fangs and green eyes.
The quarrel on the other side of the room ceased and I looked up to see both gazes fixated on Sheena.
She hopped on my bed and hid behind me after noticing she had yet again become the center of attention.
I understand that it would be happening after all it's the first time there has been a monster this included in human society, that has also taken on human features as skin complexion and frame. Normally goblins and hobgoblins had a slight slouch with a different skin color ratio and a lack of hygienic practices, and here I had a hobgoblin with brown skin no slouch, and no smell.
The only people who knew she was a monster would be Ellen and Rochelle not counting the guild master who had yet to meet her, she had been an object of amazement for another reason, her amazing physique which exuded a motherly woman's charm with her slim waist and massive assets on a slender body.
This might sound odd to some but this Monster was definitely a hot woman.
I couldn't help but put on an awkward smile as Rochelle looked at me with disdain and Ellen looked at us was curiosity, it was evident from Rochelle's facial expression that she had judged me as a beast who only chose to keep Sheena for her body.
"Uhm, the main reason I sought permission to come here was to level up via the dungeons to meet the guild master's level quota, so now that we've booked a room to store our stuff is it okay for us to enter a dungeon?" I tried to break that stagnant atmosphere and avoid being questioned.
"I don't see why not. Not only can you get levels, but we can also get treasures and as much of the dungeon is unexplored we will be rewarded for any information brought back on unexplored areas and new monsters." Ellen held her index finger in the air as she spoke.
"Yeah let's go!" Rochelle jumped to her feet clenching her fist while standing in the bed.
"Rochelle get down!" Ellen shouted in a panic.
