On paper, the Glory Guild should have been stronger. They were recognized as one of the great guilds of Alterian, with years of prestige and resources. But strength meant little if you had no idea how to counter what you were facing. And the Glory Guild, for all their training, for all their resources, had never fought against Dark Magic like this.
Spells flew across the hall, powerful attacks that would have destroyed ordinary foes. Yet the Dark Guild answered with techniques they didn't know how to predict.
A blanket of Dark Magic spread across the ground like a living shadow. Its properties warped and weakened everything that touched it. Ice magic, in particular, was reduced to brittle shards, its area of effect shrinking until it barely covered a few feet before dissipating entirely.
