Chapter 298 - Another Mission

Rama was quiet as they left the meeting chamber, the steady rain still pattering outside the arched windows of Crimson Vale's corridors. 

He had expected tension, sharp words, and maybe even threats to be thrown around between the guild masters when Larsen directly said that he wouldn't reveal all of it for now.

Instead, what he saw was… trust. 

Not blind trust, but the kind of trust where even if someone wasn't telling the whole truth, the others gave them the benefit of the doubt. It was rare. Very rare.

In his city-Twilight City, a thing in the guild master meeting like what Larsen had done would have split the table in half and ended with blades drawn. Here, they wanted to understand before they condemned. 

It was strange, and strangely reassuring.

"I didn't think Hunters could be like that," Rama said at last, his boots echoing lightly against the stone floor.
