Chapter 22 - Nila's Almost Bad Night

In the dark streets lit by street lamps, a man with dark hair and eyes like the night was walking with a sour and slightly disturbed expression on his face. He had a feeling that disturbed him.

-Are you worried?

"She sounded scared. A kind of voice from Nila I've never heard before."

-Hmmm I see.. -After a short silence the voice of God was heard again -Turn right

"What?"

-I said turn right. I'll get you there as fast as I can.

".....Thanks, reliable as always"

Seth followed Hades' directions. Right, left, straight, straight, straight, left, then right again. The road seemed to meander, but Seth reached the store quickly. He walked in and saw a female cashier alternating between sleep and wakefulness. She hadn't noticed him and the store was eerily silent. There was literally no sound inside except the sound of the air conditioner running. Under the fluorescent lights of the store, Seth walked past the shelves and reached the freezer section. There was no one around. Seth began to wonder if this was just a joke or if Nila was waiting outside. But it couldn't be, because he had already made a quick check outside before he went in, and there was no one outside, but the problem was that there was no one inside either. Had he missed it? He was about to go out when a hand on his back scared him to death.

"Wow, you came faster than I thought."

The one who hit Seth on the back was none other than Nila.

"Damn it, you scared the shit out of me, why did you come so quietly!?"

"Hehe" Nila giggled and stuck out her tongue. She was wearing a shirt tied in a knot, revealing her slim waist, and she was wearing denim shorts underneath. She tied her hair on both sides in a pigtail. When combined with the necklace and earrings, it was a combination that revealed her cute little but splendid figure and beautiful face. The word "beautiful" and "cute" crossed Seth's mind. But though she still stuck out her tongue and greeted him, her face quickly fell.

"Oh, are you okay? You sounded a little scared on the phone... and where were you when I looked all over the store?"

"I...." Her voice trembled "I was hiding"

-We have a problem here

Seth asked anxiously, "Who are you hiding from?"

Nila's eyes widened slightly, she sniffled and looked at Seth

"Do you remember that photo I sent you when you were on a date with Lucy? You wanted something as stimulating as possible, and that was my boyfriend, my ex-boyfriend now.... We didn't agree on some things, we argued, he told me-"

"You're nothing but a cheap whore" he said. Nila shook her hand angrily.

"It was the last straw, he seemed to realize what he said when I slapped him, but it was too late. Don't you ever come near me again! I yelled and walked away, I didn't let him call, I didn't let him try to apologize, I blocked him from everywhere. It didn't upset me, it was normal, I would never be upset to lose someone like him, that stupid bastard... but today when I was leaving I noticed him watching me. I don't know if it was a fluke or planned, but it was him. I got scared, I sped up. The faster I sped up, the faster he sped up. I didn't know what to do. I was scared, it was the first time in a long time that I experienced such a real fear."

Two tears came from her eyes. She put her head on Seth's chest.

"I didn't know what to do, Seth, so I went into the first store I saw, thinking I would be safe in the crowd, but there was no one inside except a cashier who was half asleep. I got nervous so I hid and call you."

She put a forced smile on her face. And she looked at Seth.

"I don't know why. But after that conversation, I felt confident that you would protect me." hic "I said if he came, I'd be safe."

Seth wrapped his arms gracefully around Nila. She pressed her head to his chest

"Don't worry Nila, you'll be safe. No matter who it is, you don't have to be afraid."

Nila was silent for a few seconds and then she put her arms around Seth and hugged him hard. Seth stroked Nila's head softly.

"Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere until you're safe. Nowhere." He said with a stern look on his face.

After a while Nila took a deep breath and calmed down

"Seth...please don't tell anyone about this, especially Lucy, I don't want her to know I'm like this"

"You don't have to worry. I can't tell anyone... do you have any idea if that man is still around? I looked around before I went in but I didn't see anyone"

"I'm not sure-"

The sound of an automatic door opening interrupted Nila's speech. Then someone's footsteps were heard

Nila moved behind Seth. A few steps later, there was a man a little shorter than Seth, with brown hair and reddish green eyes, wearing a beige T-shirt.

"Nila, there you were, I've been looking all over for you. Let me make it up to you, I still love you-"

"STAY AWAY!"

The green-eyed boy fear a moment to Nila's sudden voice and took a step back, but then approached again

"Nil-"

"Are you deaf? She told you to stay away!"

The green-eyed boy turned to Seth. It was as if he hadn't noticed him until then. No, he hadn't really looked at him for a moment.

"I don't know who you are, but this is none of your business, get out of the way"

-He's not carrying any weapons- Hades called Seth.

"Stay away. I'll say it again. Nila doesn't want to talk to you."

"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU TO INTERFERE IN MY BUSINESS?"

The green-eyed boy lunged at Seth like a rabid dog. There was a long silence for a while after Seth reflexively threw a punch that knocked him unconscious and knocked him to the ground.

"..."

"..."

-Is that all? What a disappointment

Nila looked at the man on the ground and then at Seth.

"YOU KILLED HIM"

"DON'T BE RIDICULOUS, HOW CAN A PUNCH KILL A PERSON?"

The automatic door opened again and a man entered. He had dark bags under his eyes. His long shoulder-length hair was mingled with stubble. Although he was in his early thirties, his broken appearance and slightly hunched posture made him look even older. Without saying a word, he threw the green-eyed boy on the ground over his shoulder like a suitcase. Nila shouted as he bowed respectfully and headed for the door of the shop.

"....What? Who the fuck are you? Do you know him? What the fuck is going on here!?"

The man paused, his expression like he was going to throw the kid over his shoulder and walk out of there. But instead he sighed and spoke in a warm voice that belied his appearance.

"I'm really sorry for everything he's caused you, if I'd known before, I wouldn't have let it happen, I'll make sure it doesn't happen again, you'll never see him again."

Nila seemed a little more relaxed and less angry

"Thank you? But it still doesn't answer my question"

"...I'm his big brother. Now excuse us."

Nila and Seth watched in amazement as he walked out the door. The last thing they saw was his brother vomiting all over his back

-What an epic story! That should definitely be told to grandchildren and their grandchildren

Seth rolled his eyes and turned to Nila.

"Didn't you know him?"

"He didn't even tell me he had an older brother, let alone recognize him, he looked more like his father"

"Hmm maybe he was an unplanned accident"

Nila looked at Seth and laughed

"Hahaha ah Seth I never thought I would laugh even in this situation. Thank you."

Seth grinned and said, "It doesn't matter, nothing happened to you anyway."

Nila approached and smiled. Now her earlier fear and nervousness had vanished as if it had never existed, and she was relaxed and had a silly grin on her face. She lifted herself up on her tiptoes and gave Seth a short, soft kiss. "Thanks again for coming and for almost killing a man for me."

Seth blushed and sighed as Nila laughed

"You really panicked me back there, you know, I really believed for a second that he was dead....stop that stupid smile, it's like you're making fun of me without saying a word"

"Oh I would never treat the prince charming who saved me like that" Nila giggled.

Seth got behind Nila and started pushing her.

"Okay then, Princess, let's get you on the next bus before another pervert comes"

As the automatic door opened and closed for the last time that night, the cashier was jolted awake

"Oh, I thought I heard something" and went back to sleep

"By the way, Nila, I'm wondering where you've been hiding all this time."

"Well... I was in the broom closet"

"That little closet? You're flexible enough to fit in there."

"Do you mean something here?" Nila looked at me with mocking eyes

"I didn't say that, you made it up," Seth retorted with the same sarcasm.

This conversation continued first on the way to the bus stop and then at the bus stop until the bus arrived.
