"We were colleagues in my final year of high school," I started. "She was an exchange student and I helped her out a few times. We ran into each other a year ago and she told me if ever I needed her help she'll be up to help me."
"How was I kept in the dark about this?" Debby polled.
"Sorry about that," I smiled. "It just didn't come to my mind to tell you."
"I understand," she tapped my shoulder, her facial features filled with excitement. "Go ahead and give her a call. Why did you ask us to reach out to her when you had her contact info?"
"I simply wanted to be professional," I blurted in response.
"Well it's time to be unprofessional darling," she winked at me and pointed at the device. "Go on."
"Time to be unprofessional," I let out in a breath and clicked on her name. Setting the call on speaker, I rested my phone on the desk while it connected. After three rings, she picked up. "Hello?"
