Chapter 16 - The trip(Part 1)

"That's awesome!" I said, "Who's coming?"

"Me, you, and Percy and Annabeth are going to show us around!" Fitz said excitedly, "You should probably pack now so we can leave in a couple of hours."

"Ok. I'll be back in a half hour," I said, pulled out my home crystal, and hurried into the light. I sprinted toward the door and dashed up the stairs, taking them two at a time, and mentally planning what I would pack. I found my old duffel bag and started hurriedly throwing in things.

"Did you know I would go to the forbidden cities?" I asked. He nodded. "They won't even let me come!" he said outraged, "Alden said, "There was no reason to worry." What if another bad group arises and kills everyone? What if you get attacked by a lion? The possibilities are endless!"

A/N: So, so, sorry that I haven't been updating :(

"Relax, the worst thing that could happen to us is that we get in trouble with the police." After packing a few more items I ran past Sandor and lept down the stairs. Grady and Edaline were out working on Verdi and after saying goodbye I went to Everglen.

"You took 28 minutes and 39 seconds to pack all your things!" Biana.

"You really had to time me?"

"Of course!" she said, making it seem like I was missing something. We headed toward the door, talking about what we wanted to do when we got there. I put my stuff by the door and we went toward the living room.

"Everyone come here," Alden said, motioning for everyone to join him. He held the crystal to the light and we stepped in and disappeared.

When I looked around I saw that we had arrived in a dark alley. Our sudden appearance went unnoticed except for a couple of rats who skittered away. After a quick look at the map, Annabeth went out of the alley and the rest of us followed. After only a couple of turns, we were at our hotel.

"This is bigger than Everglen!" Exclaimed Fitz as he craned his neck to see the top.

"It's not even close," laughed Percy, "It's just made to look big."

We entered the building and Percy and Annabeth went up to the front desk while we looked around.

A/N: Merry Christmas!! :).

Fitz's POV

When we were looking around I saw some old people sitting around the hotel and on the other side there was a ton of food, I was about to go into the place but Sophie explained that you had to pay for it.

"Oh look, Annabeth's waving us over." She said, her blond hair swishing over her eyes. We reached the front desk and Annabeth handed everyone a card.

"Don't lose this, it's the only way to get into our room," She explained, primarily to me. Once I showed I understood she continued, "It should be pretty big with two bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen."

We took this thing called the elevator which apparently moved up and down by itself. We went all the way to the top and went straight to our room. Percy swiped his card against the handle and it unlocked.

We entered a small room with two bedrooms at the end of the hall. There was a small kitchen to the right and a living room to the left. After everyone stepped in Percy ran toward the bed and jumped on it.

"Woohoo! I got three feet of air!!" Annabeth rolled her eyes and handed a schedule to Sophie while I put our bags in our room. Percy also came out of the room and grabbed the bags at the door and brought them in.

"Have you played video games?" Percy asked mischievously after we had all settled down and were talking about what we should do later today.

"No," I said cautiously, wondering what he was up to, but he just nodded. After a few minutes, we decided to look around and go see Percy's mom.

"My mom has the best chocolate chip cookies in the world!" he said, "Also the best pancakes and shakes."

"Just be warned though everything is blue," Chimed in Annabeth.

"Why blue?" Sophie and I asked in unison.

"Long story short, my mom and stepfather got into an argument and we ended up getting blue food," Percy said as we stepped outside.

Percy whistled and suddenly the shadows next to us melted out and a dog came out. She immediately bounded toward me with astounding speed and quickly stopped in front of me and barred her teeth.

"Come here girl," Percy said playfully and the dog licked Percy until he was drenched.

"So where did you get the dog?" Sophie asked.

"Got him from a thousand-year-old inventor," he replied, "She can shadow travel which is probably the easiest way to get to my mom's house. Also, Ms. O'leary loves my mom." We climbed on top of her and she immediately bounded toward the wall with the most shadows.

When I was sure we were about to crash the shadows quickly enveloped everything else making it pitch black. A few seconds later we were on the beach where a small town stood with a big house on the outskirts of the city.

"Before my mom lived in an apartment but then since it didn't seem like a good place to raise a child she moved here," Percy explained as he opened the door and we all walked inside.

Sophie's POV

I smelt the aroma of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and my mouth watered as we approached the kitchen. There we were met by a woman who looked like she was trying to give food to the baby and make some food.

She stopped when she saw us and ran to hug Percy.

"I'm so glad you're here!" she said, "Can you keep Estelle distracted while I finish making my bean dip? Then we can talk about where you've been," He nodded and sat down next to the high chair.

Estelle looked excited as she knew what was in store for her. She was not disappointed.
