A loud screech could be heard; everyone covered their ears due to the loud volume. It could bust anyone's eardrums with a ringing sound. Then the mechanical beast used its metal tail as it began to pierce the train, damaging the train while making both the train and bridge shake violently under the attack.
"Run!" Yelled out Sazh as he fell on his ass and was about to run away, but the three ran towards the mechanical bird that was hitching a ride on the roof of the train.
"Away! I meant awa- and they're gone, ugh, kids these days," he tried to clarify in a nervous tone, but when he noticed they went to fight the beast, he let out an annoyed groan as he then decided to follow them as he struggled to keep his balance on the roof.
As he tried to get a hold of Jaune put out his hand for Sazh.
"Grab my hand!" Jaune exclaimed to him as Sazh quickly did so, the young man was able to pull him up with ease, which shocked the man greatly, that a young man who looked half his age was able to pick him so easily.
They turned around to see the mechanical beast as it screeched at them, as Sazh fell on his butt in shock.
"What the hell!? They're sending the big guns now! " Sazh yelled, shocked and horrified.
"Hey, got a plan?" called out the red hooded girl, and asked for the plan.
The boy was about to speak, but then Pinky spoke.
" Watch and see," Pinky said in a cold yet a bit cocky tone, running towards the mechanical beast. This caused both Jaune and Ruby to face palm.
The beast took out saw-like claws and strikes at them pinky doing a back-flip Ruby jumped over it and shot it with Jaune grabbing Sazh's collar and pulling him back as the saw just about missed his head.
"Whoa!" Sazh exclaimed as he was pulled Back he then looked up at the kid that saved him.
"Thanks for the save," he thanked Jaune with a nod of his head.
Jaune nodded back at the man.
Ruby ran next to Jaune her scythe in Full display.
"Yeah, but first we need to experiment with what it can do first then we will be able to destroy it" he quickly explained with Ruby nodding in agreement, he turned to Sazh.
"Do you have a weapon on you to fight?" Jaune asked the man. Sazh nodded and took out twin pistols,
"Yeah, I never leave home without these babies," he said confidently. A ghost of a smirk is seen on Jaune and he nods, looking back at the metallic monster as pinky is fighting against the monster, holding her own pretty well, they had to admit.
And quickly, Jaune thought of a plan.
"Oka,y both of you give covering fire. I'll be up ahead giving her a hand, Ruby, jump in when I give the signal!" Jaune orders the two, running in to help Pinky.
"Signal? What signal?!" Sazh questioned and yelled out at him in complete confusion and looked back at the girl.
"Do you know what this signal is?" he asked and she only raised her shoulders indicating that she doesn't know either not filling him with much confidence.
Back to the fight.
As lightning was holding off well and went for another strike as she jumped up into the air.
With then the beast somehow grew a tail that looked like a scorpion and was about to attack her but then a metal against sound As she sees a shield thrown at the tail causing it to be deflected she grabs the shield and jumps back to distance herself from the beast as it strikes again.
She held up the shield and was being pushed back but then another pair of hands were felt as she turned to see the boy as he was helping her push back as the machine was being shot at from both Ruby and Sazh.
As it then fell on the train.
"Ha! Not so tough now, are ya!"
Sazh retorted at the beast.
Both Jaune and Ruby looked at him and facepalm cause now the guy had to tempt fate of all things.
As if in retaliation towards The man's words the metal beast took hold of the two sides of the train and its thrusters engaged and the train began to shake.
"Whoa! Hey, now it wasn't a challenge of any sort!"
Sazh screams in a panic, but the beast didn't care, it began to carry the train.
"Run!"
Ruby ordered out sprinting, Jaune and Pinky ran for the other side.
"You don't have to tell me twice."
Sazh retorted, quickly picking himself up and running after the others.
The mechanical creature lifts half of the train into the air, causing it to rip the tram half.
Jaune, Ruby, Lightning, Sazh.
Everyone barely made it to the other side of the train.
The little chocobo lands perfectly while Sazh.
"Whoa!"
Made it but tripped on his face. Ruby kindly outstretched a helping hand for him, and he gladly accepted.
"Damn, what the hell was that thing?"
The man could only call out through shuddering breath, walking down the railroad.
"A Manavin Warmech"
Spoke out the hooded man not looking at the group still out looking at the edge, the name registered with the other Ruby out speaking once more as recollection recalls when they ran into one.
"Wait, like the one from-"
"Yeah, just like that on.e"
He confirmed, but the other two were confused at what they were saying but neither of the two asked.
But then the ground violently shakes, they all put up their guards to what is causing the rumbling but the hooded man simply pulled out a broken sword handle instead of his sheathed blade.
Everyone (minus Ruby) looks at him like he is insane with holding only a bladeless pommel.
But then unsheaths his other blade, with a quick flick of the arm, it transforms into an assault rifle, holding the rifle with one hand.
With then the mechanical beast made its unwanted appearance once more all were ready to go fight it but the others were too slow, for a blur of roses rushes past them and went in guns blasting the piece of scrap from various different angles as the blur jumps and moves acrobatically graceful as if dancing.
The hood Jumped in to the fray not slowing down the incredible speed that the girl is going at actually they are complimenting each other, he shoots the the blur gets him and he disappears as he was attacked by the iron goliath where he once stood and reappeared in a different place, again and again.
They quickly take action, lightning slashing and Sazh shooting.
slowing down the machine, then hood changed his gun back to a sword
stabbing the pommel down its head with then instantly a swordless pommel, instantly a sword that looks made of glass, formed from light.
The metallic beast roars as if in pain, struggling, moving erratically, the bridge begins to strain under the weight and erratic movement.
"We need to go, the railroad bridge is collapsing," said Lightning as she and the others began running to safety.
But the creature as a last act of defiance used its tail to wrap around the hooded guy's leg to not be able to go anywhere to take him down with it.
"Oh no you don't" said both Sazh and Ruby at the same time Sazh shooting at the beast's tail with great precision and Ruby uses Crecenrose cutting off the tail but doing so the bridge collapses from the weight.
All run with ruby, turning to a burst of petals, running towards Jaune, Sazh, and Lightning.
Making it to safety, Sazh and Lightning are shocked at what they experienced, both reacting to the small event differently, Sazh looks at the red hooded girl with both caution and curiosity.
Lightning, on the other hand stares at the girl, a feeling of suspicion grows within the back of her mind, unconsciously putting up her guard then looking at the hooded one the way his posture seemed calm and unnerved by what she did, it suggests that she did this, ability? Magic? Thing a lot to the point that he became accustomed to it but where did she?
"!!!!"
'No, wait, it can't be, is she also like her?'
Lightning's body tensed for a second but instantly went back to her usual posture shaking her head in dismissal.
'No, you don't even know her so it shouldn't matter your here for one thing so it doesn't matter'
She just turns away without a word, not even giving a thanks for what the L'Cie did for her. It doesn't matter to her what happens to her; she needs to focus on why she went through this.
"Aren't you supposed to be a soldier? Trying to protect the people," Spoke the hooded man after all this, not looking at her looking over the edge.
His words didn't hold any judgment nor anger nor disappointment, just genuine curiosity Ruby turned her hoodie fully down; they then noticed that her eyes were covered blindfolded but the young girl's gaze was still directed towards her.
"I was a soldier," lightning simply said annoyance with something else laced within the words, seeming sort of forced and natural mixed when said.
Jaune looking at the bottom of the edge he doesn't know why but feels in a sense not pulled per se but guided also wouldn't be far off either.
Ruby, sensing this from him, simply asked him with great anticipation on what he was planning.
