Chapter 232 - Nobody kills BigBear

Leek and his secretary left the building with cold faces.

When the young man turned to a beautiful receptionist, he approached her and slammed his hands on her desk.

"Cicely, let's go out for a date."

Cicely looked up at Leek. She could tell he was in a bad mood and she wanted nothing to do with the mess he was in.

"I'm sorry sir, I'm not interested in seeing anyone at the moment."

Although she flat out wanted to spit on his face, she knew that would be foolish. Leek, who was normally reserved, flared out and grabbed her by the wrist.

"Don't be so arrogant. Do you know how many girls are chasing after me? You should be honored I am choosing you, but you actually dare to reject me!"

Cicely was shocked, this was the first time Leek had acted in such a manner and his grip almost shattered her wrists.

"Mister, people are watching."

The secretary reminded him. Leek let go of her and went back to his ship, his head still fuming.

Back inside the ship, he turned to the secretary. "Call her, the next time Cicely visits, she should add the substance."

"The gut-corroding acid! That's a bad idea, you just had a public altercation with her."

The secretary wasn't shocked, but she was concerned that if something happened to Cicely so soon after this outrage, it would be easily tied back to Leek.

...

"Arghh!"

A player yelled as bright orange flames consumed him.

"Didn't expect the final evolution of the SMG to end up as a sweet flamethrower."

Bian, wielding a futuristic flamethrower, took some ammunition from the dead player's crate and left.

The flamethrower was an amazing weapon, it didn't need to reload, it ignored all defenses, and he didn't need to aim, just spray.

The benefits came with the drawback of consumption as it used a special ammunition type which was relatively hard to find.

Luckily, Bian could just fuse the common ammo into this required one.

Ratata! Bam! Bam!

Bian heard gunshots coming from the well, he realised two players must have been fighting in the sewage container beneath.

With a casual shrug, he brought out a weird ball. When he pressed it, the ball became a vacuum, sucking in the air at high speed.

Bian dropped it into the well and kept walking without looking back.

Boom!

[nobody is on a 100 player kill streak!]

"This place is getting hot, the wall of fire must be near."

Bian saw that there were 400 players remaining and let out a heavy sigh. By the time he had a mythic gun and hexagonal armor, most people hadn't even gotten a rare weapon.

He was like a wolf in a pack of chickens, which allowed him to kill a hundred players by himself.

That was one-tenth of the total players in the game!

Still, Bian didn't allow himself to get cocky. He didn't have anything that other players couldn't get. He stayed close to the wall of fire and cleared out the settlements he passed through one by one.

He was able to watch the kill box and learn from there the weapons of the players with the most kills, aside from him of course.

One major reason he could afford to do this was because he wasn't chasing airdrops or high loot zones like the true professionals.

"This Black Rose is going to be troublesome, an eighty-player kill streak is no joke. BigBear shouldn't be too tough to handle, I have to watch out for his mythical weapon though."

...

"Keep the chopper steady!"

BigBear yelled as he took aim once more, shooting a condensed ball of electricity and managing to kill the running player.

"What's the rush, BigBear?" Phantom snapped, "some dude has already gotten a hundred kill streak, you can't have the highest kills in this game and you don't need to either."

Phantom pulled the collective lever upwards, raising the altitude of the helicopter.

"Let's just cruise mid-air and land when the player count is almost empty." Phantom felt smug with himself as he thought of this strategy.

"Things might not be so simple." BigBear shook his head. "Who do you think would win, a player who has been hiding all the while and suddenly jumps out to fight, or the player who has carved a bloody path, boosting morale and sharpening his skills?"

"Well, we can't say for sure. It would be a fifty-fifty."

"Listen here, you..." The warning systems of the helicopter fired off, BigBear didn't trust Phantom to use the flares properly. He jumped out of the helicopter.

As he was paragliding, he saw Phantom react appropriately, avoiding the locked-on missile with a well-timed flare.

"I shouldn't have jumped, damn it!"

It was too late for regrets, BigBear clearly spotted the female player in a biker suit putting away her guided missile launcher.

"Black Rose! But she's doesn't have a mythic weapon, I have a chance!"

Black Rose brought up her rare shotgun. When BigBear saw that, fear overtook him and he ran away.

"Eat this!"

Phantom laughed like a madman, crashing the helicopter on Black Rose. He jumped out at the last moment and changed to his assault rifle.

"Where did BigBear go to? Anyhow, I'll rush her when she walks out."

Phantom took aim at the wreckage, waiting for Black Rose to come out.

"It's taking a while, where is-"

Bam!

A mechanical film unravelled, revealing Black Rose and her smoking shotgun.

"Next time don't talk as much, it'll help you detect camouflaged players."

After looting Phantom's box, she turned in the direction where BigBear ran to.

...

"She got Phantom. This isn't good, I need a close-range mythical weapon."

BigBear found an empty building and went through the different events that had happened so far.

There were currently six mythical weapons in the game. Four came from airdrops while the other two were found by players in boxes.

Only nobody and BigBear himself were consistent in the use of the mythical weapons. The other wielders had been killed multiple times, with the weapon changing hands time and time again.

"I've fought this nobody before. He's good, but not as good as Black Rose. She's the only one that can cause me trouble."

A scary suction sound erupted while he was still talking. BigBear immediately recognised it as the sound of a black hole grenade.

Checking the kill feed, he saw nobody had killed a player using a black hole grenade.

"Nobody is here!"

A maniacal smile broke out on his face. If he could kill nobody and get the flamethrower, he would have one of the best close-range weapons in the game.

Although fighting against a shotgun player who could kill with a single shot was still risky, he could greatly increase his chances with his smoke class.

"Hahaha! The heavens are on my side!"

BigBear laughed and ran out, catching nobody looting a crate. Nobody also saw and recognised BigBear.

Knowing he had a long-range weapon on him, nobody sprinted towards BigBear.

BigBear changed to his secondary and ran into a building, activating his class skill as he entered.

"Yes, come inside."

By the time nobody entered the block, the smoke cluster exploded and filled the area with smoke.

BigBear knew he couldn't beat the flamethrower at close range, which was why he used the smoke bomber to disorient his opponent.

Unfortunately for him, nobody also wielded the smoke bomber class, meaning he was capable of spotting BigBear also.

When the streams of fire rained on him, BigBear wondered what was happening. He ducked to the side, but the flamethrower followed him.

"Oh shit! He's the same class as me!"

The realization hit him too late. The flamethrower had burnt him to a crisp.

"Goodbye and good riddance," Bian said as he picked up the Electric Sniper. Now he had two mythical weapons.

When Bian stepped out again, he was greeted by a female player wearing a biker suit.
