The Night Dragon had never seen such a trick—a dragon dramatically changing form—let alone into a legendary Red Dragon. Terrified, it abandoned its prey and vanished into the darkness, attempting to flee.
"Damn it!" Christoph knew what was important and immediately pursued at full speed.
Within minutes, Christoph returned, his face contorted with frustration, dragging the Night Dragon, which had already given up struggling.
Christoph still wanted a son-in-law with a 'strong background and promising future.' If not for that, he would have gladly ignored David, his rebellious descendant, and simply taken off with the Night Dragon.
This Night Dragon was clearly no fool. Seeing that a non-legendary individual like David could command a legendary Red Dragon, it knew better than to act recklessly. "I need to know your purpose so I can cooperate," it stated. "Besides, my territory is filled with only Undead, not the treasures you Chromatic Dragons desire."
