Apart from some family members, the majority here were trained individuals. The sound of footsteps alone was enough to signal that something had gone wrong. Everyone stopped kidding around and looked toward the newcomer with grave expressions on their faces.
Wester Welson appeared like an arrow, out of breath and wearing an expression full of guilt, "Boss, Miss Abigail and Young Master Xavier are missing!"
Everyone gasped in shock; all eyes were fixed on the boss.
It was unusually quiet.
Then they saw the boss, who was just putting a piece of shiitake mushroom in his mouth, chew slowly and deliberately.
Had he not heard? Everyone else had. Could it be that the boss suddenly went deaf?
"Boss, I'm telling the truth, Miss Abigail and Young Master Xavier have disappeared from the hospital!" Wester Welson reported, drawing even closer.
"Hmm," the boss finally made a sound, but it was an incredibly indifferent monosyllable.
