Romney Queens was busy at the company all afternoon and worked overtime in the evening. By the time he returned home, it was already past 9 p.m.
Walking into the courtyard, he was surprised to see his mother, who usually went to bed early, still sitting outside enjoying the cool evening. He couldn't help but walk over and ask, "Mum, why haven't you gone to rest yet?"
"I was waiting for you," Mrs. Queens got up from the rattan chair and sighed inwardly as she looked at her tall, handsome son.
"Waiting for what? When I finish work, of course I'll come back," Romney glanced at his mother and added lightly, "You should rest early, Mum; sleeping too late can cause wrinkles."
"Are you bringing Gale Summer to our house tomorrow?" Mrs. Queens asked a question that had been on her mind all afternoon.
Romney nodded naturally: "Of course, it's customary to bring her back, isn't it?"
"You—really don't mind?" Mrs. Queens frowned at her son.
