She hurriedly untied the apron she was wearing, about to introduce herself to Kezia Reed, but Kezia Reed asked another question, "Did you see Romney? He drove so fast, aunt and I couldn't keep up with him."
Romney? Gale Summer's brows furrowed slightly. Was this Miss Nichols accustomed to calling other men by that name or was she very familiar with Romney Queens?
"Are you asking about Romney Queens?" Gale Summer still patiently asked in her capacity as the hostess.
"Yes," Kezia Reed nodded, then looked dissatisfied as she glanced at Gale Summer and turned her head to ask Mrs. Queens, "Are the servants in China allowed to call their masters by their first names?"
Mrs. Queens's face was a picture of embarrassment as she awkwardly tried to explain, "She is not a servant, she is Romney's...."
