"No matter what the consequences are, I must stop Isabella from getting close to Sophie!" Ruth Upperton swore she wouldn't back down.
"Ruth, you have too much prejudice against her. In my eyes, Isabella is flawless," Jeffery Johnsons didn't hesitate to praise her.
Ruth grabbed his arm, looked at him seriously, and aggressively said, "Is it true? I know that after Sophie died last time, Isabella stayed at our old mansion for a few days. Did you two do something disgraceful?"
"The more you talk, the more outrageous it is!"
Jeffery was angry too, his aged but dignified face full of fury, "I'm a soldier! Do I have such degraded morals? Isabella is a good kid too. Don't let your imagination run wild, making all sorts of accusations and smearing her! It's completely fabricated!"
"She may be good in your eyes, but she's not good at all in mine!" Ruth was stubborn and inflexible.
The two elders were at odds, neither willing to back down.
