"...it's that delicious."
Jeffery Johnsons knew she wasn't lying about this, and approached to ask, "Did you recruit a new cook to the house again?"
"Haven't I told you, Bertha Marley is coming to stay with us tomorrow, and I've been looking for a couple of servants for her these days."
Ruth Upperton was eating with delight, as if she felt younger, boasting, "But I haven't found suitable ones, and I was thinking if it didn't work out, I'd transfer two from our front courtyard for her. To my surprise, a mother and son arrived today, they're perfect!"
"So, this braised tofu was made by the mother?"
Jeffery Johnsons observed as she nearly finished eating, the plate was already empty save for a few bits of tofu.
"Yes, if I gave her to Bertha, I'd be a bit reluctant."
Ruth Upperton finished eating, didn't bother wiping her mouth, and licked the remnants on her lips with her tongue, still savoring it, "Fortunately, I can transfer her over anytime to cook for us."
