Joel Russo shot him an icy glare on the spot.
Jackson immediately shut his mouth, his eyes darting toward the bedroom door as he nodded repeatedly, signaling with his expression—

Joel withdrew his glare and added,
"She insists on coming to the office with me. What am I supposed to do after that?"
Deceiving her about this was proving to be more challenging than he'd imagined.
