Arabella Vanderbilt replied calmly, "If I deny it, does it change anything?"
Queen Ylaya shook her head, holding onto her even tighter, "No, denying it changes nothing. You are indeed my real granddaughter."
As she spoke, she stepped forward to hug Arabella.
Like a child, she hugged tightly, afraid she would leave.
Her action caused Arabella to subtly lift the corners of her lips.
"Then what more is there to say."
She was being stubborn, for some reason wanting to speak to this high and mighty old lady with a hint of emotion.
She wasn't some saint.
Her mother had been gone for nearly forty years, and all the love that should have been for her mother was given to someone else, leaving her feeling indignant and wronged on her mother's behalf.
Although she had her own helplessness, sadness, and reasons, the estrangement of these more than thirty years was undeniably real.
She herself also felt wronged.
