Putting down the phone, Maverick Cole turned to look at Audrey Cole again.
"Get up for lunch."
Audrey nodded, ran her hand through her hair, and asked again, "Why are you back at this time? Isn't the company busy?"
"Hmm." Maverick's gaze fell to the foot of the sofa, bending down to place her haphazardly kicked-off slippers properly under her feet, "Not busy for now."
Audrey watched his actions, naturally put on the slippers, and stood up.
