Anthony Davis and Ethan Herd talked for about 15 minutes, and everything that needed to be said was said; it was almost time for him to leave.
Anthony Davis stood up: "Alright, I'm leaving. Take good care of Scarlett Glenn and your mother."
Ethan Herd was surprised: "You're... not waiting till dawn to leave?"
As his words fell, Mrs. Herd hurried down the last few steps: "What, you're leaving now...?"
Mrs. Herd thought that since Anthony Davis had brought her home, he would at least wait until dawn to leave, but she did not expect that he would leave after being at home for just over 10 minutes.
Anthony Davis smiled: "You are back safely, and Scarlett Glenn is fine, so I can go back with peace of mind."
Mrs. Herd's heart suddenly felt sour; he was so busy, yet he had still come to drop her off in the middle of the night and was now heading back. He was someone who didn't like to waste time, yet this time, he had spent all his time on the road.
