Ethan didn't go straight home; first, he went to Blue Orchid Court and took a shower to ensure he didn't carry the scent of Nada Wright before he left.
When he got home, Scarlett Glenn was already asleep, and Mrs. Herd was wearing glasses, crocheting tiny shoes.
The shoes were particularly small, Ethan couldn't even fit his two fingers into them. He sat next to Mrs. Herd and asked, "Mum, what are you making these for?"
