Matilda Jenkins observed Mrs. Morrison's expression carefully; her lips were pressed tightly, as if she was clenching her teeth, her eyes red; she was desperately holding something back.

Matilda glanced at Mrs. Morrison's hand, which was trembling slightly.

She hesitated for a moment and tentatively reached out to support Mrs. Morrison's arm: "Mum, let's... sit over there for a while."
