Even the wealthy families don't buy this much at once. Is this young lady planning to stockpile them?

Shen Qinglan stepped outside, instructing one of the carriages to move closer to prevent the grain from getting wet in the rain.
A driver curiously asked, "Miss Shen said she was going to pick someone up. How come she's at the rice shop?"
"I don't know," another driver said, "Shopkeeper Tang said that we do whatever Miss Shen asks, and don't need to worry about anything else."
One of them followed Shen Qinglan's command and drove the carriage to the front of the rice shop.
"Miss Shen, are you buying grain?" that driver asked.
"Yes!" Shen Qinglan said, "Can your carriage hold ten thousand pounds of grain?"
