Yet there was a hint of gentle affection in his tone.
Selena Kensington smiled, "Are you about to leave?"
Tonight, Sterling Norwood would set off for The Northern Realm.
"Nine o'clock departure."
Selena glanced at the clock hanging in the hotel room; it was just past eight.
"Then remember to bring more clothes. Hmm... I'm not sure what the climate is like outside The Northern Realm..."
"Also, if any of those enthusiastic beauties from outside try to chat you up, don't respond!"
"If I find any other woman's perfume on you when you get back... hmph!"
Selena was nagging Sterling with a few trivial words.
As she went on, there was a hint of threat in her tone.
But to Sterling, it seemed very endearing.
Listening to Selena's constant chatter over the phone, Sterling's lips couldn't help but lift slightly.
It drew a joyful arc.
