Chapter 128 - Hallowed Plane

Since none of the crew had any problems to deal with aside from Z'oelo, Null decided to start there.

He explained it to him how his father taught him, but even then, the explanation was of little significance.

"With that, I'll get a feel of it first and consult with Ego and my informant on how exactly to use ki effectively."

"Sounds like a plan, only who is this informant you speak of? Have we met them or are they another thing you picked up along the way."

Null hesitated to answer properly but went with a more roundabout way of approaching things, "Let's just say they helped me start my journey with you guys."

Theef noticed the oddity of Null's speech and took note of it, 'Did that spirit not dissipate after the confrontation?'

He put the thought aside as he knew Null and figured he was in control of the situation.

"Alright let me show you ki," Z'oelo said as he focused his mind on his palm.

An invisible force suffused into the environment after escaping from his open hand and made no visible impact on the surroundings.

"Hmm. Let me get a better understanding of it," Null said as he grabbed Z'oelo's hand and channeled the navy-blue tethers to attach to him.

"Okay. Try it now."

As Z'oelo did so, the ki flowed into the tethers and instead of giving something through the connection, they collected the ki and allowed Null to absorb it into the vortex.

The spirit energy quickly took the form of the ki and radiated a soft aura as a result.

'Hey, Creator, Ego, what do you guys think of this energy,' Null asked the two elusive members of the crew.

'I cannot feel the energy if it is trapped in your buddy's stomach just so you know,' the Creator commented.

'Ugh, just let me handle that,' Ego waltzed into Null's mind space and simulated the ki based on the Cosmic Structure's signature.

'Fascinating! This energy is even making me feel a bit empowered. He was right in saying that this ki energy was an inferior form of spirit energy.'

'I also feel that ki is more suitable to stimulate life— including spirits.'

'The question is, how to channel it most effectively so that anyone without our abilities could use it properly without fail?'

Null's conversation was near instant, so his question was soon answered after a bit more experimentation.

"Ah! It might be a good idea to channel through your livellum seeing as its the house of your livelli."

"It's kinda hard to even channel ki in the first place, dude. I could barely even show you before."

"Yeah, I thought as much. Looks like I'm gonna have to step in once more."

"Thank you kindly."

It was not long before Z'oelo was able to focus his attention on the generation and flow of the ki in his body.

'I can feel myself growing more and more connected to you and my physical form,' Muni offered her experience during the matter.

'Yeah, and I can feel the overbearing presence of the earrings each time a wave of ki spreads throughout them.'

"It'll take a few more rounds of trial and error, but we must focus on more important matters now that we're all reunited," Null said.

"Is it finally time to reunite with both teaches," Z'oelo asked.

"Let's hope they aren't living too bad in their new lives. We're supposed to be going to a place full of demons and angels, right," Klein was worried.

"That's right. And according to the old man from the Other Planes store, there are two leading figures of unknown strength, but seeing as we're only in a mortal plane, they must be at least Enlightened beings," Null was not going to withhold any information when it came to the dangers of this part of the journey.

"We've already talked about this stuff," Theef barged into the conversation, "I think we've had enough time to prepare our strength. Let's just do this already!"

Barter's Ruler glowed in a golden sheen, "I may not be able to defeat an Enlightened level threat, but I will no doubt do my best to restrain them with my rule."

Null was touched by their sentiments, but he too grew solemn when considering the danger of the Hallowed Plane, "No. I'll take down anyone or anything that even so much as thinks they can do harm to my crew."

When faced with the tense atmosphere that lingered after his statement, the crew felt both secure and fearful.

"Now that we've got that out of the way, I think it's time to finally depart," Null noticed the reaction from the crew, but put it aside.

Void exited his body and did a little wave at the sight of the members of the crew, "Hey, Null. Can I get some more royal greed? I'm tired of plain spirit energy."

"Sure thing, bud. Just make sure we all make it there in one piece."

Ego left Null's body as well and performed a bow, "To be safe, why don't I join Void and make sure he doesn't accidentally send us somewhere peculiar like last time?"

"You sure you can do that," Null questioned.

"Since he has a soul and a mind that I can enter, I don't see why not. Though it might be a bit different from yours."

Null figured that made sense, "Well, you know the star chart, right? Just make sure Void follows it properly and let him absorb some of the royal greed for me."

Ego smiled, "I am the one with the cosmic structure. You're not needed to power things like before."

Theef laughed, "Look at you! Rendered a common man just like the rest of us."

Null laughed as well, "Like any of you fuckers is common amongst others. I'll have you know I practically made you guys who you are now."

That shut Theef up and prompted the rest to laugh as well.

After enjoying the taste of the royal greed, Void was ready to go.

Ego joined him in his mind space and made sure to guide him with the proper star chart.

The crew gathered close together and let the incorporeal form of Void envelope them and contain them in a safe environment.

From the inside of the ship, the crew were transported across planes as they went to the destination that took some time to reach.

Now, spat out from Void's protection, the crew found themselves in a fiery hell.

"Holy shit!" "What the fuck!" It's so hot!"

Once their minds adjusted to their new surroundings, the crew were surprised to be in a place full of demons.

They were unlucky to have reached an area full of rampaging imps and lesser demons, so when their presence was noticed by the entirety of the horde it was the recipe for disaster.

They had purer souls compared to the kind that were sent to this plane full of monsters and something within them could sense that.

"It's a fucking stampede out here! Goldie, do your thing!"

Theef was the first to direct the sole Transcendent of the crew as he readied his own powers in preparation.

"All of you hell spawn! Bow down before my rule!"

Barter's Ruler sent out a powerful surge of his greed to which the imps and lesser demons immediately felt the full brunt of his gravity.

"Let's round 'em up y'all," Null called out and ran to take out the ones closest to him.

"Time to show off my advanced manipulation!"

"Let's show them how we do it Muni!"

"Haha! Time to bring out my new treasures!"

Needless to say, the entirety of the horde was reduced to brutalized, burnt pieces.

The crew regrouped to plan out their next move to which Ego offered a unique solution to their aimless wandering.

"If you focus your mind on the flame and allow Void to resonate with the soul imprint that you see on the star chart, he might be able to seek out the traces of the missing teacher."

"I had no idea Void could be even more useful than he's already shown to be. Looks like I need to give him more of what he wants when he asks for it."

Ego had already transferred over some more crystallized soul water, so he was ready to follow the new instructions he was given.

It was only a matter of moments before Void pointed in a direction and said, "Over there," and went back into Null to become the vortex.

Only now, the vortex worked as a sort of compass as whenever Null moved around, it still pointed towards the direction he had pointed towards.

"One thing I don't understand is how one of the teachers ended up here," Null said.

"We've all got our demons. It just took one person's actions to become one of them," Z'oelo responded.

The rest of the crew had nothing to say to that and just headed out to find the teacher that was reborn in this part of the Hallowed Plane.
