As they exited the portal to the Angelic Realm, the crew were shocked at the difference between it and the Demonic Realm.
For one, there was a grand expanse of sky with clouds of all shapes and sizes drifting in the pleasant winds.
The very ground was also made of honey white clouds that were solid yet still flowing around the feet of the crew.
"Woah! This is the Angelic Realm? Talk about the complete opposite of the Demonic Realm," Klein squatted down and waved his hand through the cloudy floor.
"No kidding. Hopefully the residents of this place don't immediately attack us on sight like the demons," Z'oelo was still a bit wary.
"Keep your wits about you," Null wanted to keep the crew on their toes just in case anything happened.
"Don't be such a tight ass, man. It should be them that watch themselves around us," Theef remained himself despite the tense air.
"He's right. Just point me in the direction of Evangeline and all will happen as it was destined to," Edmond was not in the mood for sightseeing, people watching, or worrying about what was to come.
The only thought in his mind was that his beloved was here and he had to find her.
Null figured he was overreacting a bit, and he did want to find Evangeline before anything else, so he worked with the vortex to point the way to her.
Once the connection was established and the direction was revealed, the crew decided to fly over on Barter's Ruler's flying carpet to avoid any contact with the angels and other celestial creatures that looked to the sky in curiosity.
It was a good thing that they were not too curious as to the nature of the flying carpet as they just watched it soar by like one of the clouds.
"Look at them. They live completely different lives compared to the demons," Z'oelo eyed some of the natives.
They had seen plenty of flora spread throughout the realm that bore bountiful yields of fruits and berries.
The fauna also seemed to be without the need to hunt each other as they lived off the land where some fields grew out from the cloudy ground.
"The difference lies in the sins of the souls' past lives. The bad get sent to the Demonic Realm and the good get sent here."
He had not revealed too much about his gains from the death of Azazel or his past, but it seemed like he was more informed about things in the Demonic Realm.
'The old fart wants you to know that what he said wasn't exactly the truth. The truth lies in karma and the actions of one's past life which can hold sin in their nature.'
'Yeah, I get the gist of it. Not every good deed goes unpunished and all that stuff.'
"Life is unfair," Null could only speak his mind.
"Where's that energy coming from, man," Theef and the rest of the crew were taken aback by his sudden statement.
"I'm just saying. If whatever you do in life dictates your next, then it just sucks that some people are dealt a shitty hand."
"Tell me about it, kid," Edmond patted Null's shoulder, "But you can't always look at it that way. You play your cards as you see fit and it is that that dictates your standing."
There was a silent understanding that Edmond must have had some dark past which resulted in him being reincarnated in the Demonic Realm.
That was not something they cared about though as just as Edmond said, doing things as you see fit was the only thing that matters.
The conversation died down as they rapidly approached the location of Evangeline Florie.
More grandiose cities with buildings and structures filled with angels and celestial beasts showed themselves the further they went.
"I'm going to preface this by saying I believe we'll safely find Evangeline, but what if something gets in the way between us and her," Theef's rationality got the best of him.
It was not even a second before Null and Edmond responded in tandem, "We simply get rid of whatever it is."
'Of course. How foolish of me to even ask.'
And so, once the vortex pointed towards a marvelous city carved into the land, the crew knew that it was time to do some on the ground searching.
"Here's hoping that we will be welcomed and not attacked," Klein said.
"It's been a while since I bashed something. Can't say I mind a battle at the moment," Z'oelo looked to Muni.
'You're only looking for trouble. Just focus on finding Ms. Florie you numbskull.'
As they reached the cloudy ground, the crew were immediately surrounded by a group of armored angels that held glowing spears.
"Intruders!"
"They are not from this realm!"
"And there's a demon among them!"
"Welp. There goes the peaceful route," Theef knew where this was going.
"Don't attack yet! We can still handle this peacefully," Null wanted to avoid another realm massacre.
If the Demonic Realm was full of vile souls, then the Angelic Realm was full of pure souls.
While he would not mind resorting to violence if the situation required it, but the people there were only doing what the ruler of the realm dictated.
The crew heard him but still readied themselves for a fight.
'Are these guys serious? It's not like I'll let them pull anything under my watch.'
Then, just as the tensions were high, a voice bellowed from every direction, "Halt! Bring these guests to my chambers at once."
As if they were struck by lightning, the angel guards stiffened at the sound of the voice but still had the rationality to follow the order.
"Follow us at once!"
With the command made, Null and the crew followed while still remaining on guard as the voice was too ominous to be taken lightly.
'Unlike the Devil, the ruler of the Angelic Realm is able to roam freely. It's also possible he also implanted wisps of consciousness in each of the angels in the realm.'
'That and his strength must be a level above the Devil's seeing as they are the only one capable of sealing him.'
Ego did not fail to remind him of the likelihood of another Enlightened.
Everything went well with the trip to the chamber of the ruler of the Angelic Realm.
A glorious mansion stood before the crew as they walked through a golden gate and marble floor.
The doors to the mansion opened up by themselves as if to welcome them into its hearth.
The structure of the mansion was built around a large throne opposite of Azazel's.
It was made of a mixture of silver clouds and ancient pearlstone.
'I guess great minds think alike when it comes to the Hallowed Plane,' Null thought upon seeing the splendid sight of the one sitting on the throne.
"Dismissed."
As if they were afraid of the master of the voice, the guards disappeared as fast as they could.
'Hmm. You would think based upon the sightings we saw of the angels that they were under a benevolent ruler who treated everyone fairly. However, the way they act around him seem to be due to fear.'
Null was growing ever more suspicious as to the nature of the one above them all.
Before his imagination could wander even more, the ambiguous voice of the radiant figure resounded once more.
"Welcome to my realm! It seems that treacherous Azazel was met with a fitting end."
Edmond could not exactly hide the chains, so he was immediately outed for killing Azazel.
"What exactly brings you here? I can't imagine you would think that just because you killed a sealed Devil you could do the same to me, no?"
While they could not exactly see the countenance of the figure, their lackadaisical attitude and head propped up on his fist displayed a clear lack of fear.
"We ar-," Edmond began to speak, but was struck with a spiritual pressure that forced him to fend it off with his full focus.
"I was not talking to a disgusting imp like you," without even looking at Edmond, the figure spoke ill.
They pointed towards Null and said, "The only one I'll allow to speak is you."
This ticked Null off immensely, but he controlled himself and answered respectfully, "We are here for a friend of ours. Her soul must have ended up here as I can tell by a bond we share."
"Oh? Is that so? Well, I would love to reunite you with your lost friend, but now that they are under my rule I must say you are out of luck unless you want to permanently reside in my realm."
"What do you mean? Why can't we bring her with us?"
"Because I said so. Is that a good enough reason for you?"
The radiant figure sat up straight while speaking, their voice carrying a tone of indignance.
"But-," silencing him before he could speak just like with Edmond, Null was interrupted.
"If that is all, you may leave. I have matters to attend to," the figure shooed them away.
Null could not do a thing needless to say about the others and Edmond was released from the spiritual pressure.
But what was most angering about the actions of the radiant figure was that he was heading towards the direction of Evangeline!
