Chapter 2 - Introduction

As what I thought was the morning light began to shine, I soon realized after a few moments of grogginess from the lack of sleep, that it was actually a big ass flashlight.

Before I could completely adjust to light, or even take in my surroundings for that matter, I was being hauled on the shoulders of some strange men. As quickly as it took me to take into account the threat that intimidates me and my family's immediate safety, I was tossed into the back of a black, very expensive looking, van.

I soon noticed that the two men that had stolen me from the comfort of my home are currently nestled in the back with me. This means there are more of them, at the very least three. I figured that the best thing to do in this case is to remain calm, not to show any weakness, or confusion, but to proceed with confidence. I mean, what use will screaming and crying do?

"Judging by the slight shift of stiffness in your body language, I take it you are not very trusting and have many questions. But I can also tell that you are a fighter, by your reaction to what has just happened to you." One of the strange men said, essentially reading me like a tarot card.

"Well I think any normal person wouldn't be trusting, had they been kidnapped as soon as they had woken up."

"Point made."

"So, what have you done with my siblings, Eminé and Ezra?"

"Don't worry, they are in safe hands, they will be fed and well taken care of. We actually have specifically come for you."

As much as I wanted to let what he was saying go in one ear and out the other whilst I rolled my eyes, I had an inkling that what he was saying was somehow true. Or at least I hoped it was as it was sort of the only source of hope I was holding on to.

"I know you have no reason to trust me. But trust this; we will do no harm to your siblings." The man said as he leaned closer to me, his black tinted sunglasses falling slightly down the bridge of his nose. Almost enough for me to get a glimpse of his gaze.

The engine began to rumble, and the van started in motion. As we were on the road I decided to look around the interior. There were seats against the edge of the van in which we were sitting. Specifically on the left wall. In the bottom right corner by the door there lay rope that looked to be old, itchy, and uncomfortable.

"Don't make us have to use it." One of the men said, watching me observe.

'Wasn't planning on it.' I thought to myself. My eyes widened and quickly returned to their normal state while my eyebrows shot up and lowered once more in sarcastic annoyance.

As I stared out of the tinted windows I noticed that the van behind us which carried my siblings turned down another path that seemed residential. I, however, did not follow and instead remained on the road for an additional four hours after the fact. A slight worry began to set in and I started to break a sweat. My siblings were twenty minutes at most from our home without me and I was over four hours away. I hoped that for the life of me nothing happened to them and that they would protect one another.

The van soon came to a halt.

"Please make your way out of the van, and please, no funny business. We will find you, we will catch you. Don't make us use restraints." They said, ushering me out.

My eyes stung at the sudden flash bang of light. As I adjusted, I took in the almost majestic scene around me.

The lush green forest was a complete contrast to the desert road behind me. The sky was blue and the sun was out. Not a cloud dared to enter the sky. It would have been the perfect day had what is happening now not happened at all.

"Keep walking." One of the men said while nudging me forward; the other walking in front of me to show me the way.

We begin walking down a set of stairs until abruptly coming to a halt. The atmosphere has shifted upon entering. It feels empty and dark, a little tense even. We are greeted by another man in a black suit. He slips a bracelet onto my wrist. It's pretty plain looking beside the beautiful purple, black, and sterling silver charm of katanas attached. I'm not amused by much, but the charm was utterly breathtaking. I was drawn to it in a way. Almost felt... connected. Suddenly taken out of my daze I was pushed forward as a signal to keep walking.

The freezing hallway in which I'm being subtly forced to trail down seems almost that of a basement. The walls are a weird type of big long exaggerated brick that is typically used in different kinds of unfinished basements if not just the insulation. The floor is gray and concrete, almost as cold as a block of ice. The ceiling is just a mere reflection of the floor.

Finally after passing door after door, I am pointed to a room where they explain to me that I will apparently be living for a while. When they decide to leave, I take it upon myself to look around. The room was practically barren. There were no windows, no decorations, no carpet or rugs. It was almost exactly identical to the hallway it had taken to get here beside the fact that it was closed off. The room did however contain two dressers and two bunk beds.

I walked over to one of the dressers to find that there were clothes. A white T-shirt, light gray sweatpants, and darkish-gray socks. The order of the color of the clothes were like a gradient. After changing into everything and putting my old clothes in one of the drawers, I noticed two pairs of clothes identical to the ones I had just put on lay on the opposite dresser.

Obviously there are more people here, but it's safe to say I'm one of the first arrivals.
