Chapter 44 - Chapter 43 Arrival at Hogwarts

The two of them hadn't chatted for long when the compartment door was pushed open again. A red-haired, freckled boy entered and asked, "Excuse me, do you mind if I sit here? Everywhere else is full."

Harry generously replied, "Go ahead and sit." Just like that, Lan Luo and Harry sat on one side, and Ron sat opposite them, starting a conversation: "By the way, I'm Ron, Ron Weasley."

Harry followed up, "I'm Harry, Harry Potter, and he's Lan Luo, Lan Luo Thomas."

Ron had now met both of them, but he was also curious and asked, "So it's true then, you really have, have..."

Harry asked strangely, "Have what?"

Ron continued, "The scar."

Harry nonchalantly pushed back his hair, revealing the lightning-shaped scar on his forehead. Seeing Harry's scar, Ron simply said, "Cool."

Harry had also bought a whole cart of snacks and shared them with Lan Luo and Ron. Lan Luo, not at all polite, ate while saying, "I only like Chocolate Frogs."

Ron envied Lan Luo's uninhibited personality; he himself seemed a bit reserved. Harry understood both of his friends. Although Lan Luo could sometimes be infuriating with his words, he was still very good to him, otherwise, he wouldn't have exchanged pounds with him.

Facing their invitation, Ron was no longer reserved and joined their group.

Ron said, "I learned a spell to turn a mouse yellow."

Harry excitedly expressed his desire to see it.

Just as Ron raised his wand in mid-air and began to chant the spell,

Hermione pushed open the compartment door and burst in, asking, "Has anyone seen a toad? Neville's lost one."

Ron shrugged and said, "Haven't seen it."

Lan Luo also added, "Haven't seen it."

Seeing that both of his companions had spoken, Harry also said, "Haven't seen it, but I believe Lan Luo can help you find it."

Lan Luo rolled his eyes at Harry. Hermione was noncommittal about Harry's words, merely looking at Ron's half-raised wand and saying, "Are you going to cast a spell?"

Driven by the desire to join in the fun, Hermione tilted her head at a 45-degree angle, a look of arrogance on her face, and said, "Let me see."

Ron, his face flushed, seriously chanted, "Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow, turn this stupid, fat rat yellow."

A faint yellow light emanated from the tip of Ron's wand, like falling meteors, turning into tiny specks of stardust.

However, the mouse remained a mouse, completely unchanged.

Undoubtedly, the spell had failed.

Hermione scoffed, "Are you sure your spell's incantation is correct?" Then she looked at Lan Luo and said, "What about you, what magic can you do?"

Lan Luo simply pointed at Harry's glasses, and then the glasses were restored to their original state and looked brand new.

Harry didn't understand yet, but he was very happy, feeling that his friend was truly good to him. Meanwhile, Ron and Hermione nearby were so shocked their jaws almost dropped.

Lan Luo merely shrugged and said, "Is that enough, Miss Granger?"

Hermione then spoke, "Silent, wandless casting? Are you sure you haven't started school yet?" She felt she hadn't reviewed enough, and she wanted to outdo the man in front of her.

Just then, Malfoy's voice came, "Goyle, put your bag down and sit."

"Hello, Harry Potter, I'm Draco Malfoy." Malfoy ignored the others and spoke to Harry with arrogance.

Harry replied, bewildered, "You know me?"

"Hmph, aren't you just the boy who defeated the Dark Lord? Who doesn't know that!" Malfoy sneered, "Potter, you probably don't know how to make friends yet. I see that two of your friends are from Muggle families, and one is a Weasley..." He couldn't finish the rest of his sentence, and at this moment, Malfoy nervously pointed at his own mouth.

Hermione thought to herself, "How powerful, this must be a Tongue-Tying Curse, another silent and wandless spell." Ron and Harry nearby pretended not to know what had happened.

Malfoy, along with Goyle and Crabbe, looked nervously at the three of them. At this moment, Lan Luo spoke, "Noble Pure-blood families, could you perhaps be a little quieter?" Although his words were soft, they carried an undeniable Haoshoku, a magical Haoshoku crushing this world.

Malfoy and his two sidekicks were so scared they collapsed onto the floor.

Lan Luo didn't make things difficult for them, simply saying, "This compartment is full. You can check other compartments." As he spoke, Malfoy's trunk flew out of the compartment and landed on Goyle.

The three of them said nothing and scurried out, disappearing from the four's sight.

Ron excitedly said to Lan Luo, "Cool!"

Harry also nodded happily; he also found Malfoy annoying.

Hermione was the only one feeling a little down. She had reviewed all her textbooks before coming to school, and from what she understood, she thought she could outperform most students. But what she had seen today had overturned all her expectations. A student who hadn't even started school had already learned several spells, all of them silent and wandless. She had only heard of the Tongue-Tying Curse, and now she had seen it.

After thinking for a while, Hermione took the initiative to ask, "Have you decided which house you want to be in?"

Ron shrugged and said, "I should be in Gryffindor. Our whole family is in Gryffindor. Malfoy will definitely go to Slytherin; that's where the Pure-blood families are."

Hearing this, Lan Luo couldn't help but slap his thigh and burst out laughing. The three didn't understand why, and Harry curiously asked Lan Luo, "Lan Luo, what's so funny about what Ron said?"

Lan Luo then explained, "I only care about bloodlines when buying pets. Can you imagine someone comparing themselves to a pet and being quite pleased about it?"

Everyone burst out laughing at this. Ron then said, "Don't let any Slytherin hear that, or they'll come after you."

Lan Luo merely shrugged and said, "My biggest feeling upon entering the Wizarding World is a sense of decay. There are profound things, but instead of developing them, they suppress and stifle them. I actually don't care much about those Slytherin students. If I had to choose a house, I'd be indifferent."

Regarding this profound knowledge, Ron, due to his family background, only had a vague feeling and didn't know the root cause.

Hermione then continued, "I might be sorted into Gryffindor." Her arrogance had been suppressed by Lan Luo, and she now wanted to fit in.

Harry was also unsure which house to go to, but hearing what Hagrid had said about his father being in Gryffindor, he also said, "I want to go to Gryffindor too."

"Well, none of this is up to us," Lan Luo said, spreading his hands.

Harry looked at Ron and asked, "Ron, how are Little Wizards sorted into houses?"

Ron said somewhat awkwardly, "My two older brothers said this year it's fighting a Troll."

Hearing this, Hermione said, somewhat frightened, "How can sorting be done in such a way?" Her face was full of disbelief.

Lan Luo then spoke, "We're almost there. We should change into our wizard robes now so we're not flustered when we arrive."

Not long after, they arrived at their destination, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
