Looking round he counted the number of students and looked towards the beast.

"Pheew, we might be able to escape, if we work together," he thought looking over at Dan. Just then another message popped up.

"What? This is bad! Where are the rest? It's about time they come." Doing a head count he discovered they were seven in numbers from his group including himself and Dan group numbering up to twenty making them a measly twenty seven in numbers.
"Dan, we need to work together to get through this," Will voiced out as he readied his blade. 'The duel had taken a considerable amount from my energy pool.'

With the beast charging forward a battle had began with various attacks going off. Will wasn't left out as he joined the fray his sword cutting through one of the beast. While fighting they had discovered the critters had great vitality and were able to regenerate from their injuries.
Will was currently battling against four beasts and was getting overwhelmed from their ferocious attack. 'This beasts are way stronger than those muddy creatures and what's with the aura they are giving off.'
"Second formation of the heaven-defying technique! Raging force!" A wave of energy had clashed onto two beasts, diving towards one of them, he channeled his fire energy into his sword and had cut off its head.

The other one was already up with its body slowly healing. Just as Will swung his sword, a beast jumped and logged onto his body. Its fangs trying to bite through his armour.
"Get off me," he held onto its head and pulled with extreme force, he had threw it over the other beast charging towards him.
Dan with his armour glowing punched his way through as the beasts were sent hurtling back from his immerse strength. The rest were trying to hold off doing their possible best not to get killed.
"Arghhh! Get them off me!" One screamed with beast ravishing his entire being. One of the beast had made a final move by eating its head off. They all felt dread as they devoured the human leaving nothing left. Their eyes soon fell on their next target, a huge muscular guy with dual axe battling a group of three beast already.
Garrick swung his axe with full force cutting one of them into two. He didn't stop there as he unleashed a technique towards the incoming beasts. He had managed to push them back but that wasn't enough as they had charged back, their attacks more ferocious than before.
Will body weaved through as he tried his possible best to avoid getting crowded by beasts. "We need to retreat slowly, Will voiced out after carefully observing the fight."
'We won't last if we continue like this. Think! What can I do?!'
Just then another scream echoed in the battle field marking the death of another student. "Shit! This is getting rough." For some reasons the beasts had upped their attack not caring if they get hurt at the process since what ever wound they got healed instantly.
The peak stage began to move also as they began to take out the weak ones. "C'mon, everyone behind me!"

The attack had done its work, repelling the beasts. He had caught some of the beast and also a peak stage one dealing some damage.
The beasts were relentless as they charge forward, their eyes now emitting a fiery glow. "Brace yourselves! Everyone back to back!
Once again they clashed struggling to keep the beast from claiming more live. Few minutes turn to half an hour and soon they began to falter. Five more had fallen during those hours and the beast attacked kept on pressing on them.
"We can't hold on any longer!" Garrick shouted, his body riddled with bite marks and a large scratch at the side of his neck which was bleeding. Dan wasn't in a better state with one of his hand hanging loosely by his side.
Just when they lost hope, a beacon had shone. Belle and the rest team members were back all casting several attack disrupting the beasts. The peak stage beasts had fully joined the battle attacking ruthlessly.
"Most of them are quite exhausted and would soon run out of mana," Belle reported to Will as they battle the beasts. "I'm almost finished," Will said with a grim voice. The hope reignited soon faded as they struggled once more.
From the rear of the beasts an ominous energy was gathering. "What are they up to," Will thought with an uneasy feeling. Just as he was about to investigate, the energy exploded and from within came several deadly quills all shrouded in a dark energy.
"Take cover!" Will shouted but was a bit the late. The attack had caused damage to their ranks with half unable to react quickly. Some had died while others were seriously wounded.
'Shit! It's hard drawing in the energy in this area. What do I do now? What can I do!?'
" It isn't over prepare yourselves, more are coming-" He wasn't through when another maelstrom of deadly spikes covered the sky.
Just before it descended on them, a beautiful barrier had been cast blocking of the attack. "Come on! What are you waiting for! Retreat!"
They heard a voice and slowly they began moving backwards while the beasts struck the barrier.
Will followed the sound of the voice and saw a guy standing with a great sword on his back. Just then a system notification popped up.
