Chapter 46 - Training

"Flame strike! Fire bullets!" Shuffling feet could be heard along with explosion causing rocks to shoot across the land.

"Second stage of the heaven-defying technique! Raging force!" The ground shook from the strike causing a cloud of dust around the area.

A red glowing sword moved around the dust with a pair of white glowing eyes piercing through the dust. Each swing was met with a painful shriek and a thud, several wind blades sped through finding their mark.

Dispelling the dust, Will stood across the landscape filled with countless beast bodies. "Huff, huff," hands placed on his knees, he slowly regained his breathing, before standing straight.

'It's been a week since after that encounter, I can see the progress from the training is working amazingly." Walking through the dense area filled with trees, minutes later Will arrived back at their little base.

Entering through the opening, he walked towards the extreme end. Bringing out some crystals, he began the intricate process of absorbing them. 'Expending my energy during training and cultivating this crystals works better.'

Hours passed by as he absorbed the large amount of crystals, and finally all had been absorbed. After that incident, Will had talked to Garrick promising him of his share of the last crystal hunt. The next hunt they embarked on, all the crystals were given to Garrick's group.

The resources around the center was limitless and they had increased pace in locating these crystals. Over the week, they had increase in strength and were able to share themselves in searching for the resources separately.

'My qi control has also increased a little and still trying to figure out what's next. I can only project a large amount of my qi outside through the help of the system. I still have a long way to go.'

'Also, it's about time the rest come back,' he thought with a yawn. Climbing onto the high platform, he lay down and closed his eyes.

Deep within the center zone standing atop a platform was general Dalton, his large coat flapping intensely from the wind currents. On his hand was a jar containing a swirling mist like liquid.

"Alright, I hope this is the right thing I'm doing," he thought. "Turning this would lead to yet another complexity in the assessment. I was unable to find out anything about it, but, I don't think he would be senseless and heartless enough to harm the kids."

With a sigh, staring at the distant stars, he said, "well, let's leave it up to fate. Isn't that right," he said to Henry his fateful companion standing quietly at his side.

With a nod, he concurred without saying a word. His eyes showing a bit conflicting emotions.

In a swift moment everything was emptied down and the breeze blew it away, spreading it over the center of the yellow zone. When coming in contact with some beasts moving round, a change occurred. Their eyes turned to a darker shade of red and within, a deep rage exploded causing the beasts to roar in fury.

The night was a terrifying one, as those within the comfort of their shelter stayed in, none daring to go out for a night hunt. The beasts rampage through at the night, the substance doing its work gradually.

Dalton observed this from his initial position and couldn't help but frown, a large giant like bird with sharp talons and massive body size charged towards them, its body crackling with electric.

Both paid no attention to it as they continued in their observation. The beast soon reached them and that instant, within a meter away from them, it had exploded into bits of flesh, its crystal falling to the ground.

"Let's go," with swift movement they glided through passing through the barrier and onto the other side.

"What are you doing here?" Dalton asked with a frown. The vice supreme commander stood before them his hands behind his back. Without saying a word, his body twitched and slowly faded away, turning into particles.

"That guy, what's he up to," Dalton thought, as he walked towards the building meant for military personnel"

A lone figure moved across the landscape, the dark sky with moon shining brightly acting as a source of light. His movement was interrupted by a snake like beast with sizzling acid.

Will evaded all attacks towards him, finding it difficult to strike back. 'Is it just me or the beasts are acting weirdly tonight.' He had encountered this beast before and wasn't this hard.

Analyse!

[ Dark serpentine beast: Magical tier beast ( middle stage) ]

"I thought as much, a stage higher than the one I fought before, but it isn't suppose to be this hard." Flipping backwards he avoided the tail heading towards him and struck down with his sword.

The sound of metal hitting metal was heard. Will moved backward, 'the sword was unable to cut through, wrapping it with my qi and flames I would be able to increase the sharpness but it seems I would need a stronger sword, one at the magical tier.'

With flames wrapping round his sword, he charged forward, his eyes set on the soft spot of the beast. The beast on earth is quite entirely different than the ones here. But they all have one thing in common.

Kicking off the ground, he dived sideways and struck one of the beast's eyes, earning a shriek of pain and lashing by the beast. The beast swung its tail furiously destroying the trees around and had hit Will sending him hurling backwards.

"Shit! This will attract a lot of beast," he thought, quickly balancing his body and then landed on the ground sliding backward a bit.

"First stage of the heaven-defying technique! Flowing force!" Without wasting time, he dashed forward striking the beast around its body, concentrating mainly on its blind side.

With each attack, his strike becomes stronger, soon the attack on the beast was piling up. The beast speed dropped down gradually with blood dripping from its wound.

"This is it," he thought. "Second formation of the heaven-defying technique! Raging force!"At the same time, the beast emitted a blinding glow, all his injuries healing rapidly.

It's jaws extended and out came out a blob of green substance moving towards Will. The beast sudden action caught him off guard with the green liquid landing on his chest.

"Aargh," he groaned as the armour slowly corrode upon impact with some of the acids getting directly into his skin.

The system was quick to react restoring him back to his normal state. "Time to settle the score," he said preparing himself for the clash.

Roar!

The roar of a beast paused the initial clash with both looking towards the charging beast.

[ Dinoclaw: Magical tier beast (Peak stage) ]

Looking at the beast, with its large body destroying the tress within the area. The beast was a large one with little spikes all over its body. Its giant like legs with its sharp claws added to its menacing figure.

"This is good, both beast would fight each other and I would be able to make use of this advantage."

The snake-like beast stared back at Will continuing with its attack. Several green liquid was launched towards Will. "I better focus." Shaking his head he focused on his battle although keeping close watch on the beast.

He avoided the green liquids sending several flame strike towards it. He charged through, his form moving quickly. The beast had spat out several of the liquids once again and then swung its tail at him.

"Shit! The beast attacks... I'm getting overwhelmed," he thought as he avoided the green substances once more and also flipped backwards evading the incoming tail.

"Aargh! What's that," he thought looking at his chest. There a little spike was embedded emitting a feiry glow. Blood dropped from his lips as he felt the spike digging deeper.

Where did this come from? Looking ahead he saw various spikes speeding towards him some hitting the serpentine beast. The spike passed through its scale easily, hurting it badly.

"Where's the other beast?" Looking round, "it seems the beast had disappeared from the area." From his sides, he felt a slight disturbance in the flow of energy. Raising his hands upwards, he managed to block the large claw that appeared at his sides.

He felt a piercing pain as the spike in his chest exploded also, sending him several metres away. The attack from the claw and the explosion had caused a large damage, his insides hurting and both hands utterly damaged, dangling beside him.

Everything was quite blurry, managing to rise he leaned over a tree, trying to get his bearings back.

"Shit! What just happened," he shook his head as he felt a sharp pain at the sides of his head. "Damn it!" Blood flowed down to his face confirming he had sustained injury there.
