Dashing on top of the wet trees, Chiba and his squadmates ran through the rainy Kirigakure territory. Chiba was the lead ninja and would use his observation Haki to guide the squad away from Kirigakure Ninja.
After three hours of running and hiding, the squad managaed to slip through the enemies web of detection and arrived at their destination, the secret underwater base.
Infront of the eight man squad was an extremely large sapphire blue lake that was extremely clean, they could even see fish swimming a few feet down from the surface.
It was an artificial lake made by the first mizukages forbidden jutsu and was a very popular tourist attractions for Kirigakure. They even went so far as to transport a large variety of freshwater fish into this lake and even used it to houses a lot of their aquatic summoning animals.
It was unkown whether it was the purity of the water or the chakra in it, but this artificial water seemed to speed up growth and copulation amongst the fish and made lake Biwa one of, if not thee greatest fishing spot In the world.
Standing before the lake, Chiba sensed over a hundred thousand fish in the lake, some are the size of a regular fish but others as large as houses!
Disregarding the colossal fish, Chiba tuned all of them out and focused on the large building that was the size of a football field carved into the rock.
"Directly into the middle of the lake, 780 ft down is a base with 27 ninja. 4 jonin, 13 chunin and 10 genin. There is a moon pool on the northern side of the base carved into the rock, thats where you can enter and exit." As Chiba spoke, he pulled out a storage scroll and with a poof of smoke, appeared a blue baggy suit with a tiny piece of string at the back.
The blue 'suit' was a completely sealed, head to toe waterproof suit that he order from a tailor that had a hole in the back to get in. It was less like a suit and more like a very thick thick trashbag In the shape of a human, leaving only a tiny hole in the back to enter.
Putting his hands together in a plus sign, Chiba created a Shadow clone before he made the Dog, Boar and Ram hand sign. Activating the transformation jutsu, Chiba turned himself into a snake!
With his new small size, Chiba crawled into the tiny hole before canceling his transformation jutsu and filling out the suit as his clone using the string to tie off the hole. The clone lastly used an empty explosion tag paper Kushina had given to cover the rope, leaving no way for water to get in before the clone dispersed and returning his chakra back to Chiba.
His sqaud Mates looked at Chiba like an absolute idiot as even Chiba felt embarrassed by how idiotic the suit looked, but he didn't care about that as his safety was more important than pride as he took inspiration from Rock Lee and Might Guy.
"As a blind man, I need to heavily rely on my four other senses to get by beside chakra sensing. This blue suit is made out of a special material from the village hidden in the grass that helps me uses my other senses even underwater." Chiba quickly said before holding his breathe in the air tight suit.
After testing himself in a bath, Chiba figured out that while submerged in water he couldn't move even a finger or activate his Devil fruit, but he could still use chakra! It would be tricky to perfom a jutsu without any hand sign, but Chiba was semi confident that he could somehow save himself even if he were to get wet.
His squad mates gave a slight nod at the blind boys explanation of the suit, not really caring as long as he continued to save their lives with his sensory abilities. Despite having saved their lives multiple times, these Konoha ninja still held a dislike towards Chiba solely because of his heritage.
With Chiba being an Uchiha and still incredibly powerful in combat and sensing, It showed these ninja that even when born blind, a Uchiha was still extremely talented and could overcome his disability and be on par with them. The ninja from other clans felt jealousy and the civilians Ninja's felt like life wasn't fair that a blind child was on par with them solely because he was born an uchiha.
They held back any insults only because he was the greatest sensory Ninja that they've ever seen, saving them multiple times by dodging ambushes and evading the enemy. They didn't hate chiba personally, they hated that he represented the greatness of the Uchiha.
Running to the the lake, the squad didn't Activate their water walking technique and sunk beneath the water and began quickly swimming down in order to avoid detection by the passing patrol.
Using their superhuman bodies, they traveled the vast distance within a minute and they appeared next to the moon pool. The sqaud leader, Genru, started using sign language to coordinate their attack with Chiba.
With a nod by Genru, the eight man bursted out of the water into the moon pool, and saw the four guards standing there. In an instant, shuriken and kunai were launched into the guard as the immediate slumped to the floor dead..
Chiba got out of the pool and started performing hands sign.
"Wind release: light breeze" barely using any chakra, Chiba's water proof suit ballooned slightly with wind as he took another breath of his now replenished air.
Chiba wasn't going to take any chances by removing his suit this deep underwater incase he needed to make a quick escape, he obviously kept his sword outside of the suit to be able to use it.
The blind bubble boy followed the group as they silently crept through the underwater base.
Using his observation haki Chiba began instructing them on where the enemies were located with sign language. Once everyone understood who they had to kill, Chiba took out a piece of thin string and tied it around his handle just before they turned the corner.
In the tiny room was 12 hammock, each filled with a sleeping ninja who would never have thought an enemy could have made their way into the base without alerting the hundreds of Ninja they'd had to have slipped past.
The konoha ninja crept over to the sleeping ninja as they attempted to silently end the lived of the Kirigakure ninja, only for one of Chiba's squad mates to mess up.
The Konoha ninja raised his kunai above his head but accidentally unleashed a tiny bit of killing intent, waking the entire room of ninja from their slumber.
"WE'RE UND-" the Shinobi was cut off mid sentence by a blade through the temple but the damage was already done.
Chiba saw that every Kirigakure ninja was on full alert as they realize they were under attack. It was now eight vs seventeen, not only did they have more ninja but they had three Jonin while the leaf ninja only had two, Genru and Hanbi.
As the Kirigakure ninja ran over to their positions, Chiba let go of his sword infront if his teamates as he began to use his gravity fruit to control it. He sent an incredibly small amount of chakra into the string attached to it, making his squadmates believe it was similar to the puppetry of Sunagakure.
Pulling out a kunai, Chiba charged forward with his squad as he attacked a brown haired Kirigakure ninja. Slashing forward with his knife, the ninja blocked it as another attempted to strike him, only for Chiba's sword to strike down and pierced through their skull before attacking the brown haired Ninja.
The man desperately tried to defend by pulling out another blade, but Chiba used this moment of distraction to his benefit. As the mist ninja reached for another blade, a senbon need flew out of Chiba's pouch and stabbed directly into the temple of the ninja who crumpled to the ground.
Chiba's devil fruit didn't use chakra, making it perfect for surprise attacks as they could only rely on their five sense to dodge it.
Before Chiba could even get a chance to catch a breath, the image of blade piercing through his neck entered his mind as he immediately dropped to the floor, a blood soaked blade just barely passed by his head.
'Of course the last Jonin would attack me!' Chiba saw that this third Jonin had already killed two of his Chunin members before going after him!
'Atleast his chakra is just the bare minimum to be considered a Jonin, he might even be a Tokubetsu Jonin.'
Standing up, Chiba readied himself for the fight knowing that itll be the toughest one he's ever had.
