Nicholas and Patricia finally ended their seclusion...for a while, at least.
The first thing they did was to practically shut off their brains and take a very long sleep. One that lasted for nearly a year. Then, after they woke up from that sleep, they feasted.
They ate like starved men who hadn't had food for months, completely ravenous like they'd never been before.
Once they were stuffed, they took a nap that lasted for three months. Only after that did they finally look ready for a conversation and to carry on with their usual lives.
Nick and Pat looked more radiant, relaxed, and obviously more powerful than they were all those years ago.
They haven't completely refined themselves. They just didn't have the time to do so; that's why their power emanated out of them in waves and out of their control. This was actually the very first thing they worked on after they recovered.
