Chapter 58 - The one whom blames “lies”!

{no pictures}

Within the realm of chaos, in the throne rooms and lavish halls, the gods converse with their servants. Locked in that darkness, the sea of souls wanders and screams, and the grey knights fight! But twirling and lost, a grey knight ship escapes into the materium sea!

With the alarm ringing and singing, while blood coats every inch of the battle cruiser, the Baleful Edict… breathes in the fresh materium air, while the scars left from the remnants of Nurgle garden wash away in their green poison, while the knights plan to return, to fix their vessel, to continue on their holy journey, a vision latches onto both Mortarion and those onboard….

A vision of a golden child…like a sun… crying, and a vision of a rising mother, whose moons serve at her feet, and while coated in stars, and on the run, as a dragon coated in the colors of chaos, with four heads, and ten lesser horns in the shape of crowns! While within the throne room, where a golden emperor stands, vanishes like crumbled sand!

An empty seat, an empty throne… a light so heavenly gone in the dark, that the dark retakes what it had lost… and while the world vision turns to a chest... Locked and with a key… within held the decree… and a purpose… one that shall change the Grey Knights Codex forever!

[Lieutenant… the "enforcer" sure is taking his sweet time, shouldn't we…]

[hmm.. Wait.. let's just give it a few more moments, that is, unless you want to risk disturbing him from his work…]

But when the moments turned to minutes, the lieutenant grew anxious and decided it was best to send a man in to see what had happened. And… What was reported back to him drew a heavy frown on his face…

["sister" Mary, was it?]

[Yes, that is me, so.. Can I go in and help my fellow sister now? We wasted so much time already…]

[No! I have a few questions I would like to ask…]

But before he could even ask his questions, and during the shaking of the city walls, through the blinking lights, out came from the train the golden servitor! And with him, tossing the corpse of the inquisitor off his shoulders!

["sister"… CAN YOU EXPLAIN THIS HERESY!]

Staring and unable to find a believable answer, Mary paused as she looked at the man's corpse, while slowly turning her head to look into the train, as the men around pointed their guns at her head!

[SISTER! If I do not hear a reasonable explanation for this... This act of treason! I will have no choice but to put you and your fellow cohorts down!]

[...]

With no reply, the lieutenant clenched his fist as he prepared to raise his voice for the order to fire! But unknowingly to him, in the background, and in the cameras, and in the eyes of all the servitors in the room, to the gun placements, to even his own pistol… they had already made their choice!

As Mary closed her eyes and prayed… As the lieutenant placed his pistol to the back of her head…

[clank…clank…]

Hearing the clanking noise, Mary smiled as the lieutenant stared at his weapon, with a look of surprise… with wide eyes, he orders those around to fire, only for the same sound to reverberate throughout the entire chamber!

Confused, the lieutenant looked up to see the golden servitor standing and towering over him! With a spear dripping in fresh blood, the inquisitor's blood! The lieutenant dropped his gun as a familiar voice rang through the comms!

[Lieutenant… cease all hostilities at once! For I shall explain… for by the grace of the Omnissiah has presented me with the evidence of the inquisitor's infidelity! And as such has been judged accordingly… For by his grace, the inquisitor has been sentenced to death for the act of attempting collaboration with an alien lifeform, which was not in the interest of the imperium! But for his own plans, that would seek harm to the people of this world and many more…

As such, there is to be no further investigation or report filed for this treason, as one has already been compiled and sent to the proper channels. And though it pains the imperium to lose one of its… 'best', this should serve as an example of how all flesh is weak, and susceptible to corruption of any kind… But should you still protest the will of the Omnissiah, I shall send you a copy of his "proof" of treason.]

Hearing the voice of 43-sea, the lieutenant suddenly smiled and burst out laughing, as he stared at the back of Mary's head and said:

[Oh! how convenient… that of all techpriests, it was by your ally that this so-called treason was found… And at such a convenient time as well… such a coincidence is nothing but laughable! So.. "sister" what makes you think I will believe such an obvious lie?]

[...]

[WELL! SPEAK UP "SISTER"]

[sigh, lieutenant… There are no words I can say to convince you otherwise, but even still, look around you, lieutenant! The walls are crumbling, the city is in chaos, and you guys are leaderless, and your weapons spirits are refusing you… So, do you have much of a choice but to believe?]

[Ha, believe! Believe in what? Ha! It's you who is mistaken... 'Sister'... so, what if our weapon refuses us! We can still use our hands to kill you! After all, how can you expect us to ignore such blatant heresy right in front of us!]

At his words, the automatic gun placement turned their barrels at the guardsmen, and even the guns in their very hands began to charge and overheat on their own! Worried and scard, some men dropped their weapons without a second thought, while others looked to the exit!

[sigh, Lieutenant, are you really prepared to die for such a man as the inquisitor was? I mean, shouldn't you at least look at the evidence compiled against him first before coming to such a conclusion? ] said Mary as an audio recording of the inquisitor conversation suddenly played over the speakers:

[Ah! I see… so, you wish to use my power to help save your dying world…]

[Ha! Emperor no! I couldn't care less what happens to one tiny world!]

Hearing Mary's words and the words of his inquisitor, coupled with seeing his begging guardsmen's faces, the lieutenant still refused to budge from his horse stance.

[The enforcer… no! The inquisitor Vetrail…was a man who did questionable things, but… I knew him for a long time… as well as his devotion to the emperor! SO….Your attempts to spread your heresy end here... Sister!]

[I see… well, if you will not hear the truth, what say you!] screamed Mary as she stared in the faces of all the other guardsmen, who wished not to die.

Of course, the lieutenant, believing himself their superior, didn't even look back or check the look of the men as he said confidently:

[don't bother! Sister! My men's minds and mine are one! We all stand with the Vetrail!]

But little did the lieutenant know that his men did not share in his delusions, nor did they like Vetrail from the start, as he was too abusive with his power, and remembered and hated him for it! And looked to him like raided dogs!

Not noticing the change in atmosphere, the lieutenant gave his order to attack the sister! But to his surprise, as no one moved and the room was as silent as a grave, the lieutenant slowly turned around to see his men staring at him as if he were a fool.

[me….n?]

[Sorry, Lieutenant… but we stand with the sister!]

[ha! Fools! Why would you do that! Have you forgotten your oaths to the emperor?]

[No! They have not…] said a mysterious voice, cutting off the lieutenant. As 43-sea walked beside him with a smile.

[yooooou! How! No! That's not it! You are nothing but a machine! What preposterity is this!]

[This is the will of the Omnissiah!]yelled 43-sea with such fever that it made all other tech priests bow!

[And as such will you not coincide… You foolish man!]

Seeing the rare servitor with his own eyes, who glowed in a golden glow, made the lieutenant bite his teeth, but even still, he would not yield his position!

[Ha! I don't know what trick you pulled, but I will not be fooled! By the emperors' will! I will…]

[Baam!]

As the air cooled the chamber of his gladius, and the cold body of the lieutenant hit the floor in two halves, the men in attendance, along with the techpriest, all bowed as they gave praises to the emperor! And with a smile to Mary, that creeped her out, while looking at 43-sea for an explanation… 43, simply said:

[Go to her… for the Omnissiah has set aside a room for her…]

With that knowledge, the men hurried after Mary as they pulled Layla out of the train, all while 43-sea and Ms A had a hidden conversation in the mind!

[What an insidious plan, Ms A… and a disgusting use of his majesty's tools… to dirty his hands… in lesser terms a "pathetic" manner… such as this… but… I can't help agree that this plan had the highest probability of success…]

[Yes, it seems I might have asked a little too much of you, as your kind belief is a little too strong in this aspect, but nonetheless, it was a necessary step to solidify our friend's standing in this "city". As well as yours…]

[Hmm… this I cannot deny, and though it bothers me, my interest in this matter outweighs it… but still… don't push it… alien…]

[Oh! Don't worry, my dear doll! I wouldn't dream of it, besides, I only revealed myself to you because I had to… not because I wanted to…]

[That doesn't satisfy my concerns... Ms… A]

[Oh! I know… it won't, but look at it this way… I will only act in the best interest of Layla… as you will act in the best interest of your god. That should make it easier for you to 'calculate' your decisions.]

[hmm… I shall tolerate you for now, but I will have much to discuss with Layla when she awakens about this…]

[Please, my dear doll… ask away…]

As the scene closed on their conversation, the clipaseus servitor looked at for 43-sea and said through a broken language of the techpriest:

[she... Tool.. means… of end…. A protector… guarding… leech… seeker…alien…monster…and… and…. %^&$#]

[And?]

But a pause and a quiet disposition, the servitor said nothing more… leaving 43-sea in a series of confusion as she tried to piece together anything more…

And locked in those letters and numbers… 43-sea could not fathom the word "hope" used to describe an alien, or the word "desire" that hid in its undertones…

And while she pondered, and Layla slept, the war raged against the walls from the outside!

[Akios! Do we signal in a pickup? Our target has made it into the city!]

[hmm… do it! We don't have time to be wasting on chaos spawns or the bugs!] Replied Akios as he stared from the outskirts of a broken gate, where the waters below became an emerald of disgust! To the night sky being riddled with the sounds of screaming monsters as they were being eaten alive by the AW fathers' poison.

To being spotted by an overhanging demon of Khorne! And with an evil grin, he planned his perch…to the depths of the earth as two children of the AW father stirred out from their grave, covered in the blood of bugs! While below them and still fighting, the Incaendius dreadnought screams as he tore bug from bug! With eyes in a red haze!
