The Witch of the Takehara Family, Takehara Chigako.
Chigako was chosen as a substitute for the Heavenly Door Witch Sacrifice from a very young age, and although just an alternative, her treatment was no different from that of the primary witch.
Chigako lived a secluded life at the Shrine of the Takehara Family, receiving reverence from Tsuchimikado Village.
The villagers, including the main Tsuchimikado Clan, held great respect for the Witch.
Everyone respected Takehara Chigako, yet kept their distance from her.
Even her own family was no exception.
The villagers were not supposed to interact too much with the Witch. Takehara Chigako was elevated by Tsuchimikado Village to such heights that she could only gaze down upon the mundane emotional exchanges of normal people from afar, unable to partake in them.
She was destined to live an abnormal life.
A witch must not harbor too many emotions.
