"Alright, great... Uh-huh, the cake's already delivered to you? I'll come over to your place after work, don't worry, today there's a colleague with me, so it'll wrap up a bit quicker."
Toyama hung up the call with his girlfriend.
Matsushita, who was beside him, chuckled and teased, "Going to meet your girlfriend later?"
"Yes, it's her birthday."
"No wonder I heard you talking about cakes and stuff. Did you prepare a gift?"
"Yes, a pearl hairpin. I bought it at Mikimoto and I'm still carrying it, planning to surprise her later." Toyama answered, looking quite delighted.
"You're quite the guy."
During their conversation, the two arrived at the front of a shopping mall.
This place isn't particularly bustling; the mall's business seems to have been lackluster this year, so late at night, the surrounding streets are deserted.
However, such matters hardly concern Toyama and Matsushita.
