Chapter — The Castle of Demise
"You're finally awake!" the woman exclaimed, her voice calm yet carrying a hint of relief as she neatly folded the freshly washed clothes into the wicker basket by the bed.
"Your friend has been worried sick about you—he thought you were dead." She sighed softly. "You've been lying there for three whole days, barely breathing."
Ariel blinked rapidly, her vision still hazy. Three days? Haven thought I was dead? What in the world happened to me?
The woman seemed to read her confusion. "I suppose you're wondering where you are," she said, straightening up. "Well, you're in the Great Castle of Demise—home of the Lycans."
Ariel's breath caught in her throat. Her heart pounded. Home of the Lycans? The words echoed like a curse in her mind. Oh no... I'm inside their territory?
