Chapter 5 - 5- The morning that tickles

As the morning dawned, a woman slowly opened both her eyelids, revealing beautiful amber irises like in the fall. Her brown hair looked so messy, and her body was still wrapped in a pink dress.

The room with a classic feel was filled with light coming in through the cracks of the windows, penetrating through the window glass, with the curtains half open. The light was so warm, a few small birds settled beside the large window.

Eliana blinked her eyes, getting up from the sofa, feeling more refreshed than usual. Then, when her gaze fell on the piano located not far from her, Eliana tried to remember what she did last time.

However, the last thing she remembered was playing the piano,"Could it be that I fell asleep last night?" she muttered softly.

Eliana began to panic, looking at the piano with a wide-eyed stare. This was the first time she had fallen asleep while working! If Mathilda found out about this, she would definitely get scolded, right?

Then, what about the customer's master? Did he leave because he was upset?

Negative thoughts began to haunt Eliana, and shame and worry crept up on her. She felt like crying, imagining how upset the customer would be. And to make matters worse, her salary would most likely be cut!

Just as Eliana was thinking hard about how to prevent her salary from being cut, the door suddenly opened, revealing a tall man, with glasses hanging over his nose and his hair slightly bleached from graying, his face also decorated with fine wrinkles, showing that he had entered old age.

Eliana immediately averted her eyes and greeted the figure entering the room, "Ah, Mr. Smith? Good morning. Did you come looking for me?" greeted Eliana politely.

Mr. Smith was Mathilda's personal assistant, and Eliana rarely had any direct interaction with him. However, why would he come personally now?

"Mrs. Mathilda told me to wake you up, seeing as you're already awake. I'll just give you this," Mr. Smith said as he handed Eliana a brown bag.

One look at the bag and Eliana knew it had some coins in it.

Eliana carefully accepted the bag and smiled sweetly, "Thank you, Mr. Smith."

Mr. Smith nodded his head in response to Eliana's words.

"By the way, is Mrs. Mathilda here?" asked Eliana, noticing that the bag was heavier than usual, indicating that her overnight earnings had not been deducted and she had even gotten a bonus.

"Madam has left. Do you have anything to tell her?" asked Mr. Smith calmly.

"Ah, I see. I was just wondering if I made any mistakes last night, like making a customer angry because I accidentally fell asleep," Eliana said curiously.

"No need to worry, you have forgotten everything well. Now, go clean yourself up, your friend the redhead is waiting outside," Mr. Smith said as he turned around and left the room.

Instantly Eliana breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that she had done her job well and that her pay hadn't even been cut.

Eliana strode in her worn-out shoes to the white-painted gate, walking with the stealth of a thief so as not to make a sound. She had cleaned herself up and was wearing short knee-length black pants and a white top. Her brown hair was neatly tied up, and she carried a sling bag filled with money from her work.

Eliana's amber eyes focused on Louise's back behind the white gate, and a sly smile unconsciously etched on Eliana's beautiful face.

As she got closer to Louise's back, Eliana was more careful to get closer without making any noise.

'Boomm!

"KYAA!"

Eliana was suddenly startled as Louise turned her body around and made a loud noise imitating the sound of a bomb that had just exploded. Eliana's body fell to the ground as she was so shocked, she felt her heart pounding. Eliana sat on the ground, clutching her chest as she tried to compose herself. Her face was pale and her eyes were wide open.

Louise chuckled, then offered her hand to Eliana to help her up. "I'm sorry, Eliana. I couldn't resist doing a joke like that," Louise said, still laughing.

Eliana did not expect to be surprised by Louise, even though she was the one who wanted to surprise Louise first.

Her amber eyes staring at the helping hand in front of her face, Eliana immediately accepted the helping hand with an annoyed face, even to the point of puffing out both cheeks.

"Hey, stupid. Are you mad?" asked Louise when Eliana didn't say a word and puffed up both sides of her cheeks.

"Huh," Eliana snorted in annoyance, turning her face away from Louise. Although she had faced death twice, sometimes Eliana could also act like a child.

Honestly, it looked so cute and adorable to see Eliana angry.

Louise stopped her laughter and approached Eliana who was still puffing up her cheeks with a slightly pitiable face, "I'm sorry, Eliana. I just wanted to please you. There was no bad intention," she said in a serious tone, trying to apologize.

Eliana finally let out a long breath, her previously annoyed face began to subside. She turned to Louise, "Alright, alright, I forgive you. But please don't do it again, okay?"

Louis smiled with relief and nodded his head, "hmmm, well I won't do it again."

An orange aura emanated from Louis' body, just by looking at it, Eliana became upset again.

"Don't try to lie to me, I can see right through your lies," Eliana said firmly as she stepped past Louis, leaving him alone.

Louis quickly caught up to Eliana, plastered himself next to her, and smiled awkwardly while scratching his head, "Hehe, caught ya."

"I'm sorry I didn't pick you up last night," Louise said in a regretful tone "It's a good thing you didn't go home last night and stayed here. If you had gone home alone in the dark streets, I don't know what I would have said to Madam Maria."

Eliana suddenly stopped her steps, she turned her head and raised it slightly to look at Louis, because Louis was taller than her. She just realized that Mimi was sitting on Louis' right shoulder.

"Hi, I've done my job well," greeted Mimi with a small smile, she then flew over Eliana's head and landed on it, "so, let me sleep well today," she said in a weak voice, the fairy's voice could only be heard by Eliana.

Mimi immediately lay on top of Eliana's head, making the brown hair a fairy nest for her, in just a few seconds Mimi was already fast asleep and even snoring.

Eliana's face became flat at the sleeping fairy's habit of falling asleep easily, she immediately turned her attention to Louis who was looking at her with a remorseful look.

"No need to apologize, it's not your fault, because I was the one who asked you not to pick me up,"

"But-"

"Listen to me," Eliana grasped Louis' hand, interrupting his conversation, she looked at him intently, with her voice so soft she spoke again, "today I get more money than usual, let's forget what has passed and go shopping,"

Louis smiled and was relieved to hear Eliana's understanding words. He felt grateful that they could forget about last night.

"Thank you, I will definitely not be careless in the future."

Seeing Louis' innocent look, Eliana felt guilty, because she was the one who caused Louis not to be able to pick her up.

"Let's go shopping, Maria will be waiting," Eliana immediately changed the subject, she grabbed Louis' left hand, dragging him to leave.

When his body was pulled by Eliana, his feet followed Eliana's small steps, his gaze was transfixed by Eliana's charm, he saw a smile that was so bright in the sun that it was able to thrill his heart.
