While Ken was jumping in joy seeing that he had lightning affinity, Shikuro was also surprised at the absurdity of the situation.
Having all 5 natures chakra affinity is unheard of. Not even the third Hokage or the second Hokage who have mastered all five chakra natures through sheer talent and skills had all 5 nature affinities.
While any shinobi can learn other chakra nature jutsus outside of their affinities, it is extremely rare for a shinobi to do so.
It not only requires a lot of time to learn such jutsus but a lot of hard work, practice and knowledge of other chakra natures. It takes a lot of time to even learn a single jutsu of another affinity without talent and hard work.
Shinobi can't spare this much time for another jutsu of another affinity rather they prefer learning 3-4 jutsus of their own affinity in the same time frame.
After recovering from the surprise, Shikuro looked at Ken and asked "Judging from your joy, it seems that you did not know that you had lightning affinity."
Ken nodded as he replied "We assumed that since I had Lava release and ice release, I only had the four affinities of wind, water, earth and fire. No one bothered to check my affinities with a chakra paper."
"Now teach me some lightning style jutsus!" Ken said excitedly
Shikuro without any hesitation said "No"
"But whyyy?" Ken whined wanting to learn chidori already. But he knew that the only one who could teach him that jutsu was Kakashi.
'Should I cash in my favor with him for giving him that seal for his Sharingan? But he would probably refuse to teach me Chidori since I don't have Sharingan.' Ken thought
A side effect of Chidori is that it limits the user's eyesight to tunnel vision. That on top of the insane speed would render the user unable to react in case of a counter-attack.
Ken wondered if he could maybe train his senses, especially his eyesight so much that the side effects would not matter but he realized that it was not possible to have the same eyesight that was provided by Sharingan. He had to think about some other way to use Chidori or something similar.
"Because you would have to focus on other natures since they would help you with your kekkei genkais and lightning release would not do the same. If you still manage to get some free training time while learning all of it, I am willing to get you someone who could teach you lightning jutsus." Shikuro said to which Ken agreed since what he said made sense. He was already busy with lava release and he still had ice style to learn.
"Now, Let's get to what we will be doing in the next two weeks. Kabuto, you would be focusing on Earth release since being a medic requires you to have defensive jutsu to protect yourselves. And there is no better chakra nature than Earth in defense. If you are safe then only you can heal your teammates." Shikuro said to Kabuto who agreed knowing that Shikuro would know what was best for him.
Shikuro then addressed Itachi "Itachi, You have affinity with fire and water release but fire does not have any strong defensive jutsu. Water jutsus requires an external source of water or else they take a larger amount of chakra to use if you don't have water in your surroundings."
"You can choose to learn earth style: Earth dome or the Mud wall jutsu but since you don't have an affinity with it, it would take you a lot of time to learn it as compared to the water style jutsus and we won't be able to do it in the two weeks which we have for training. I will leave the choice to you. So what's your choice." Shikuro asked

'Ken can use Earth-style defensive jutsus and Kabuto is going to learn them too. If we ever fight in water, water jutsus can come in handy. It's not that I can't use water-style jutsu without water either.' Itachi thought more about what would suit the team best rather than himself.
If Hiruzen heard his thoughts, he would praise Itachi for such a strong will of fire.
"I think that I will go with water-style jutsus." Itachi said
"Good. Now as for you Ken...." Shikuro then looked at Ken and addressed him.
Ken was excited to know what jutsus would Shikuro teach him.
"You would be learning Kenjutsu." Shikuro said as Ken's excited expression turned into a less excited one.
He did not complain as he knew that he was quite weak at close range despite his Lava style: ash fist jutsu. He lacked strength and speed since he was quite small and just 6 years old. To get better at Taijutsu, he needed to grow up. There was no shortcut for it.
But Kenjutsu was different. While it required a good level of physical strength, it required more skills, precision, and technique.
Ken thought that his nimbleness and short height would also be advantageous to him while using Kenjutsu.
For example, if he fights with a larger man who is also using kenjutsu to fight, would not be able to react to attacks that are below the level of their sword's reach. They are used to fighting larger shinobi and not a 4-foot kid.
"I have been in Anbu before and was taught Kenjutsu during my time there. So I am sure that I could teach you Kenjutsu up to the intermediatory level." Shikuro thought as he created two insect clones.
"Kabuto and Itachi follow one of the clones. They would guide you with your ninjutsu training. I will teach Ken Kenjutsu." Shikiro said as everyone dispersed.
